The video game actually explains how Riddick got his 'Shine-job'.

Seriously, why you'd be pissed about the animated spin-off is beyond me. It's a fans dream to have this type of extended material. if you're a fan of Riddick, by all means you'd want MORE stuff to watch. Does it bother you that they have comic books, novels, and other things written in the Star Wars universe? That they make spin off video games, and things of that sort? Well, this is no different, and you can watch what you want, as the main films for each of these franchises...tells the main story.

Otherwise, too bad about Riddick not doing so well. I was really hoping this would be able to make some $$, and give us a new franchise. Honestly, these other forms of media might be the only way we will be able to see the Riddick story continued, so I'm quite glad they've got started there in the first place.

The DVD and video game are what I meant by the Elric and Conan comparisons. Each of the stories is self contained and centers around one specific character, what we see in just glimpses into that characters life. It's pretty hard to assemble a Conan chronology from just reading the stories, and it's pretty hard to get them in order. Same way with Elric. And now the same way with Riddick. Often times to story starts with us having no idea where the character is or why he's there. Sometimes he's got people with him or chasing him and we have no idea who they are or why they're there. But that never matters, you just take it as a matter of course and read on.

Conan and Elric had 1 media(the Conan movies were just retellings of the serials/books), Riddick has several which is fortunate for us cause otherwise some of the stories wouldn't be told.

I bought Dark Fury from Best Buy for $10 bucks, it's darn good and I hate the look of Peter Chung"s animation. I quickly able to get over though and enjoy the story and great action scenes.

The game is getting rave reviews, everyone seems to love it. I might rent an X-Box just to check it out, but I'm hoping for a PC port.

Just saw this with a friend...

I never saw Pitch Black, but this was a decent Sci-Fi flick. I didn't like the ending, thought it was kinda cheesy and predictable, but oh well. Kyra/Jack was hot, I thought she looked like a young, athetic Rachel Weiss. She was the best part about the movie! I give it a B-.
