Question about Summer School...
Hi, big fan of summer school. Watched it a lot as a teenager.
I recently re-watched it. Thanks paramount for releasing the dvd!
Anyway, I noticed something weird.
Why exactly was Mr. Shoop (Mark Harmon) in a WOMEN'S strip club where he accidently finds out that one of his students is a male stripper?
It struck me as bizzare. Looks to me like the explanation was left on the cutting room floor. A lot of the film seems edited down to give it the brisk pace that it has.

This movie is a favorite "guilty pleasure" of mine, although I didn't buy the DVD. Good plot observation! It's probably just a hole, but perhaps there was a deleted scene that explains it.

If I recall correctly, the scene plays out with:
Chainsaw and Dave throwing a 4th of July picnic and Mr. Shoop's (Mark Harmon's) beach house. Larry, the student by day/stripper by night, is asleep as usual on one of the deck furniture.
He wakes up, looks at his watch (being late for his job), and runs into Mr. Shoop on the way out.
Although Larry never specifies why he's in such a rush and where's he's going, I think SOMEHOW Mr. Shoop puts two and two together and figures it out and THAT's why he's in the strip club a couple of scenes later.
But I agree, that part could've used some fleshing out.

I don't that's it because he runs into the student at the bar and is totally surprised that he is there. It's almost like he just stumbled on him there.

MovieMaster... you are right. Or at least that is the best possible explanation for it. That whole scenario definetly suffered from editing.
Funny how Kirstie Alley once looked so appealing and is now so much the opposite of that.
