So your saying Zombie is a terrible hack just from one film that happened to be terrible without even stepping foot into his second film?

Good logical judgement there buddy!

I liked this more than I expected - it was a much more successful blend of dark humor and brutality than the first film. It still had some structural problems, and the lack of characters to root for made it a bit tedious at points, but only briefly. I loved how the structure mirrored The Empire Strikes Back with Ken Foree as Lando, and the film critic scene killed me - it's funny because it's so, so true.

There were several parents bringing their 2, 3, and 4 year olds to this last night. What on earth are people thinking sometimes? Good Lord!

I'd recommend to anyone who hasn't seen House of 1000 Corpses to wait. Devil's Rejects is a much better film and works well on its own. Then watch House afterwards for the back story.
Whoa.....theres a story to House of 1000 Corpses?? haha

I loved Devil's Rejects. Sure, it wasn't perfect and a few time sit could've used a trim here and there, but this is a film I want to see. Nobody makes these "70s exploitation" films anymore. Oh, and how cool was it seeing Ken Foree in a bigger role than I thought he was going to get. Will Foresyth ruled. Only real complaint: Where's Dr. Satan? (Mostly likely on the cutting room floor).

Damn, first time I ever saw a clown with a full beard and moustache. Makes him even creepier in an unexplainable kind of way.

Man, that is just sad. Having a 7 year old and knowing what scares him...I can't imagine exposing him to that kind of violent images would do to him. One can imagine this is not the first time (or will be the last) that these kids are subjected to this kind of extreme graphic violence at the theater or home....over time one may assume they will be affected in a negative way. I would love to see the theater refuse admission to R films for kids, even with parents present.

I loved this movie. Even tricked my mom into going (she walked out on The Texas Chainsaw remake, I love messing with her!) but she loved it too. Crazy movie, lots of social messages, weird dreams, and Groucho!
Check it out, it's sadistic

Isn't that for sure? I can't tell ya how many loud mouth little bed wetters ruin my theater experiance....those parents (and children) shouldn't be allowed out in public!

50% is actually pretty good for this movie. Seems to definitely polarize people.

Saw it. Liked it a lot, though not having any real good guys made it hard to watch at times. I did think it was interesting how Zombie toyed with the whole line of hunters and hunted, especially at the end.
Spoiler:
It was interesting seeing Baby running for her life from some de-ranged psycho and trying to hide; one would almost forget that she is one of the most evil bitches on the planet.
I actually admire this movie more than like it to be honest though, it made me feel nasty watching it. I give it *** out of four. In terms of Dr. Satan and his lack of presence, I think Zombie was trying to get away from all of the supernatural elements of the first one, and in all honesty, I preferred this approach. While I liked the first one's visual style, it looked like little more than a haunted house-type attraction with a bigger budget for its gore and creatures.
On a side note: Sheri Moon Zombie is hot, and Rob Zombie is a lucky S.O.B.

Just got back from watching it. Liked it a lot more than House. Much for of a NBK feel than that of a horror movie except for a few parts. Probably in the 2.5-3 star range (out of four).

That is a great review. Just so you know.

I thought the movie was fantastic. If it was playing closer to my house, I would probably go see it again tomorrow. Oh well. I will have to wait to get my next fix when it hits DVD.

Two thumbs up from Ebert & Roeper

They also mentioned the Groucho connection. Naturally, I must see this film!

I enjoyed both House of 1000 Corpses and Devil's Rejects.

Many of my friends have told me that they didn't like the use of
Spoiler:
Free as a Bird
at the end of the film. I don't know why? I actually liked it.

I was blown away by the fact that Ebert & Roeper gave it two thumbs up and Ebert gave it 3 stars on his website. Funny, cause here in Chicago, a guy in the Tribune gave it ZERO stars...I've never seen a review with ZERO stars before in a paper. I was very shocked. And he even mentions
Spoiler:
Free as a Bird
in his review too!

I am actually listening to that song on the soundtrack right this second and thinking about how much I liked that ending. I thought the song was a perfect match.

He's right. I figured found out how what he just found out after watching House of 1000 Corpses, which I turned off a little more than halfway through.

Funniest thing ever. Actually saw a couple bring in a kid tonight that was so young, they got an orange kid seat for him to sit in while he watched the movie. MY GOD!

I saw this today...didn't care for it very much, it seems zombie's goal was to disturb, which he does, but there was no point to it all...it's like a cross between From Dusk Till Dawn, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and Last House on the Left...1.5/4
