Oddly enough, this new trailer looks like it should've been the teaser. Where as the old Devil's Rejects trailer looked like the full one!

The film over all was decent. If you like southern classic rock and was a fan of the first film or enjoyed a natural born killers style rampage, you'll like this.

I've never felt so guilty and voyeristic ... loving such a satanic, twisted movie like House of 1000 Corpses. It was pure nightmarish insanity. It was like Lost Highway, only a lot more giddy. And there wasn't some 'self aware', modern-day Kevin Williamson script.
The Devil's Rejects CAN'T be bad. I'm seeing a lot more bad-ass kicking on behalf of Sid Haig, and a little less twisted emphasis heads-in-a-jar and stuff. The Devil's Rejects comes across as more of a devilish, schlocky action film than the teens-in-distress original. But I'm sure Zombie has some balance, and won't cower away from some extreme violence and jumpy scenes.
I still don't like Rob Zombie's music, or his nausiating videos on MTV. But damn, the guy - and his movie - is so cool.

Liked the old trailer better.
While I liked the first one for its visuals and sets (Zombie definitely has a good eye for that stuff, no denying it), this one appeals to me because it has a plot with essentially no heros and plays one the concept of evil vs. evil. Intriguing to say the least, especially considering who you have as protagonists.

I am a GONZO fan of 1000 Corpses!Chaotic, dark comedic, murderous mayhem w/some bizarre supernatural overtones make for one screwed up exploitation shocker!
I loved everything about that flick... the color schemes...the music, the editing, the acting, the charactors.. its not perfect, but for my money, its a masterpiece and I HOPE that there is a Directors Cut waiting to hit Dvd real soon!
The Devils Rejects looks like a dirty gritty exploitive shocker in its own right, and I'll be over that movie like an Ethiopian on a bowl of cold gruel!

Rejects looks like it's more of a flat out psychos on a rampage premise without any of the supernatural elements from the first one.

Yep, that's what the trailer conveys. Hopefully, the retro style of the trailer doesn't carry over to a retro style of misrepresenting the movie.
Looks great though, and I never saw 1000 Corpses because it just looked too damned cheesey. I may have to rent it now though. I had no idea this was a sequel, heh. Got passes for a screening on Tuesday.
And thanks for the new wallpaper, darqleo.

I enjoyed the first one as well. It kind of went downhill a bit once the girl got put down the well, but I think that's mostly because there was obviously a huge backstory there that I would have liked to see explored. I've never seen more people walk out of a movie in my life when House played, and I'll never forget waiting and waiting and waiting as the camera drew out from the courtyard.
I'll check out the new one when it comes out.

Feelgood movie of the year...

Okay, just got back from an advance screening of this one, and oh man...
This is the feelgood movie of the year - for ruthless outlaws, that is. It's gritty, grimy, ugly, relentless, and just plumb raw as hell.
I think it needs to be said right up front that this is not a 'scary' film, as that was the one complaint my two friends who saw it with me had. No, this is rather a 'violence exploitation' film. It indulges greedily in exhibiting brutality for brutality's sake, not for some cheap thrills; there are no 'GOTCHA!' moments here - just a whole lot of blood, guts, and anarchistic abandon.
The plot works well for me. The motivations and drives of both the crazed family and of the lawmen who pursue them are nicely played out, and it all comes together very well... with some possibly unexpected results.
I think the casting was great, and the acting from everyone was natural and believeable. Yes, some of it's a bit over the top, but we're not talking 'normal people' here. The protagonists here are twisted people, and mean twisted people at that, and the victims caught in their web find themselves in dire straits indeed, so it's wholly understandable that they might just be a little on edge (understatement). And yes, you read that right - the protagonists in this film are the bad guys. This is a story about outlaws, and is told very much from their point of view.
The editing is terrific, the story clicking along at a good pace and coherently so. The visual style is just great, with old school exterior filming of desert highway culture and scenery. Interiors look great too, with attention to detail and natural lighting. But it's not all straitforward realism, as a few creative artistic moments serve to shake things up from time to time. It all worked very well together, and I really, really really liked the look of this film.
And the scenes... they're just right on. I don't want to give anything away, but there is stuff here that is just brutal. But I guess that was the whole point.
I also watched House of a 1000 Corpses for the first time just before Devil's Rejects, and Rejects wins hands down. Corpses was fun, but just didn't come together as well as Rejects. There is still humor in Rejects, but it's a much more serious film. I also feel that the acting and cinematography were better. It is clear to me that director Rob Zombie is maturing as a filmmaker.
I'll probably be catching this one again when it's released July 22nd, and will definitely be picking up the dvd.

I saw the trailer for this a few months ago at the movies & want to see it. Of course we'll never get it in the theater around here. Guess I gotta wait for the dvd.
I dug House of 1000 Corpses. It was also cool that they picked the guy from Singled Out (Chris Hardwick) to be in it.
Last fall my sister & I were at this little haunted house mostly put on by junior high kids at a school. It was pretty cheesy until we walked into one room & got a real shock. They had guys (not kids) dressed up liked Capt. Spaulding & Dr. Satan committing heinous acts. It was pretty cool & a little freaky.

He really isn't in it for that much. Though the scenes that he is in are pretty funny. There is a big Natural born killers feel to this film from the get go and it just doesn't let go. The southern rock was really well placed. I loved the soundtrack to the film.
It's pretty graphic... very graphic. Over all, a pretty good shoot em up with a nice ending.

Yeah Jack, I thought the ending was great. Some people are saying it was too slow. I thought so too at first, but the deal is that it's perfectly timed. It starts slow, and then picks up, and then really gets going. I don't want to give anything away, so I'll just say, and those of you who have seen it should know what I'm talking about, the scene is perfectly matched to a quintisential icon of southern culture, and I think in the context of this film, it works very well.

Theaters recieved the new promotional package this week... The new poster has gone up already...

And the cardboard standee is a big ass art eisil with the image below as the painting... They should be up within a week or so.

There's also some new clips up at The Rejects Army... I HIGHLY RECOMEND, "R.I.P. Jimmy." Ballsy shit! The "Horny Robots" clip is pretty funny too.
