I am excited, but then again, I liked half of M:I2, which probably leaves me in the minority.

I will see this just like everyone else, but I hope it is more like the first movie and not the second. Carrie-Anne Moss has proven she has what it takes to kick butt in an action flick, so she is a good choice. I'd rather watch a physically capable, good-looking actress than a really hot damsel-in-distress in a spy flick like Mission: Impossible.

Dang. I was hoping for Jessica Simpson.

Seriously, this is what Carrie-Ann Moss needs. She might be able to eventually co-star with Uma Thurman in an action movie someday. Not a Kill Bill sequel, but something similar.

The second film was like an American James Bond, rather than the team effort of the TV series - even the first film focused too much on Cruise, I thought.

With Frank Darabont writing the screenplay, this one may not suck!

It's too bad David Fincher passed on directing. THAT could have been interesting. At least it would have LOOKED great.

On a side note, I am glad to see Jamie Bell doing something else. I was just wondering why he never did much after Billy Elliot since he was very good in it.

As for the hot chick comments, there is more often than not more than one chick in movies like this. And especially in action films there is often one obnoxoiusly hot female and then another semi-hot, or not-for-all tastes, hot chick.

Fine enough casting. I don't think how hot this chick is really matters that much. I'd rather see someone who's convincing as a spy, rather than some drop dead gorgeous spy. Trinity should be fine for that...just no prolonged death sequences please.

You know Thandie Newton's career didn't really take off after M:I 2 nor did the french woman from the orginal M:I I'd be weary about doing an M:I movie if I was a woman.

I don't understan what makes Carrie Anne Moss so kick a$$ in the eyes of the fanboys. Do you really believe she goes around just killing police officers or guys in suits?

Umm, that "french woman" is Emmanuelle Beart.

Her career was solidified before Mission Impossible, and it continues to be solid.

and the funny thing is, is that everytime I bump over into the Movie Talk forum, this is always jumps up to the top of the forum with someone else salivating over this announcement. I frankly could care less.

This sounds fine I liked the first two enough to give this one a try.
I would have preferred Kate Beckinsale (kicks ass with the looks); however, Carrie Anne Moss is fine.

As long as she doesn't have a prolonged death scene, then I am fine with it.

No, but she sure as hell can PLAY a girl that can go around killing police officers or guys in suits.

That's my point too, tanman. Carrie Anne Moss is quite convincing at playing an ass-kicking tough babe. As an action heroine, she is a lot better than most of the other choices I have heard. Any runway model can play a damsel in distress.
