I just watched Ebert and Roper's review and they both gave it a resounding thumbs up! Their review has pumped me up for this movie even MORE. They also review the dvd coming out soon and makes me glad I ordered. Man, this is going rock!

Oh well, there is always the dvd release.

yeah that sucks :( What did his scenes consist of anyway(if it doesn't spoil anything)? Also wasn't Gogo's sister supposed to be in the movie or something?

Jackskeleton 04-04-04 09:54 PM

From what I recall Michael jai white had a fight scene with Bill. there are some pictures of it floating around.

I was really looking forward to the anime sequence. oh well.

ABCDE 04-04-04 10:51 PM

They cancelled Ebert & Roeper this week to show a re-run of the f** Juno Awards. Urg...

I remember that picture. In the production stills thread there are a couple of pictures of a scene of Uma and Carradine walking together which isn't in the movie. I think that was White's scene.

Yeah. "Yuki's Revenge" was the chapter that could have started Vol-2 since it begins after "Showdown/House-Blue Leaves". But Tarantino ended up ditching the chapter entirely (You can still read it wherever the script is)
Yuki was said to be more crazier than GoGo.

Ebert gives the shit that Tarantino flushes down the toilet two thumbs up. He thinks that if he gives him enough rave reviews that he will forgive him for giving a thumbs down to Reservoir Dogs (aka before Tarantino was the cool thing).

*farts* Ahhhh. That was nice.

http://www.suntimes.com/ebert/ebert_...2/1012912.html

To be fair, he gave Reservoir Dogs 2.5 stars. Another half-star would have been a 'thumbs up'.

He wrote "as for the movie, I liked what I saw, but I wanted more." Good Ebert. But then, he writes "Tarantino doesn't do much with his characters except to let them talk too much, especially when they should be unconscious from shock and loss of blood." Bad Ebert. :D

After apparently 'getting it' while watching Pulp Fiction, I guess he was probably like 'oops, I've messed myself'.

Oh, and Ebert is the only critic who gets any attention from me.

I'm there opening morning; first show.

Poster's not bad. If only it had General Mo looking like this instead.

GeoffK 04-06-04 12:17 AM

I saw it today... Didn't really like it.

Vol 1 & 2 are really 1 amazing 2 hour film, uncut and spread out over 2 2 1/2 hr films, but individually I think they don't fair as well as what could have been.

It's going to be a love it or hate it film, a lot of my fellow critics seemed to like it.

Jackskeleton 04-06-04 01:11 AM

Saw it today aswell. I loved it. The action wasn't as packed as the first but the dialogue is great stuff. the pacing was good. I'm sure some will not like the fact that there isn't a crazy 88's battle or something of the such, but the fight between ELLE and The Bride is simply amazing. I loved the fights, I loved the down time. It took it's time to get through and tell the back story and it filled in nicely. Loved it. Loved it. LOVED IT

What'd you think of the multiple end credit thing? I thought it was kind of out of place, but interesting in the least bit.

Jackskeleton 04-06-04 10:36 AM

I didn't find the multple end credits out of place. What was really noticable was the extended credit time given to gogo while everyone else's was half of that at the very least.

The film has plenty of feet shots so get ready for those ugly toes. :p

Rypro 525 04-06-04 10:54 AM

so qt's foot fetish lives on in this movie.

Dr. DVD 04-06-04 11:33 AM

How do so many of you guys see these movies up to two weeks in advance?

I haven't seen either movie yet, but according to IGN's review of Vol. 1 Uma has some pretty nasty lookin' feet. (pic included, if you go to their review).

I personally have a very good friend who works for Allied-Solomon/Friedman here in the area. They are promotions company that handle all of the promo events for the major studios. Thus, I go to the public screenings/press screenings for the area and see all of the movies.

her feet (if they are her's) are very nasty lookin. but qt got to really be with a foot in from dusk till dawn.

RichC2 04-06-04 03:26 PM

Hollywood Reporter put up their review...

...and I thought Ebert and Roeper gushed a bit.

Has some spoilers from #1.

through either advance test/preview screenings as mentioned by the other poster or just studio screenings.

All are part of the hollywood formula to get good word of mouth out early.

QT's foot fetish is there indeed.

Dr. DVD 04-06-04 03:41 PM

I guess living in L.A. or Souther Caly gives you access to more advacne screenings.

The most advance screening I ever got was one of Big Fish on December 15th when it didn't open until Jan. 9th nationwide, and even then it was a final cut I saw.

They're really her's. I don't think Tarantino would pay for an orangutan just for a couple of closeups.

Well, everything else about her is awesome. Feet can always be fixed with a peticure.

No! Now you've done it. Now someone's gonna post a picture of her feet just to prove you wrong! ;)

NaturalMystic79 04-06-04 06:01 PM

Hehe, well here's the thing. Uma had very nice sexy feet in Pulp Fiction. Right after she "powders her nose" she comes down barefoot to tell Vincent she's ready? Well, the whole shot is of her feet (again, this reveals Quinton's foot fetish), and her feet look fabulous! So she has the potential for very clean, sexy feet.

B.A. 04-06-04 06:39 PM

They just showed an extended preview on Entertainment Tonight - I can't wait any longer for this one. It looks fan-freakin'-tastic. ;)

Mondo Kane 04-06-04 07:40 PM

To Scott,Steebo,William,Jack, and GK. Doesn't it feel odd to see the actual movie before the theatrical trailer came out?

I love Bill's Crazy 88 line

Jackskeleton 04-06-04 08:24 PM

Spoiler:
So she went through all 88 people to get to O-ren?
There isn't really 88 of them, they just call themselves that

 Good stuff.

Rypro 525 04-06-04 10:27 PM

that line had me laughing too (its in the trailer.)

outcastja 04-06-04 10:52 PM

I'm sorry, I overreacted.

Jackskeleton 04-06-04 11:53 PM

Spoiler:
The Texas funeral scene had me surprised, I didn't know <s>buck</s> Budd was going to put up that much of a fight considering all the trailers in Vol 1 were really pointing towards him being the easiest to take out.

Gutz 04-08-04 03:26 PM

Folks who saw it, can you tell me and yes spoil it for me, is bill going to die? The Bride kills him? Heavy spoiler indeed but I just need to know. I've debated with 50 people that she is NOT going to kill him. I guess I am wrong but...Bill lives or dies?

William Fuld 04-08-04 03:50 PM

Spoiler:
She does kill him in the end, but it's surprising how she does it.

Jackskeleton 04-08-04 03:59 PM

Spoiler:
Actually, it's pretty predictable how she does it. The moment when bill stated that mai wouldn't teach it to him I already knew that she was going to learn it and do it to him.

Gutz 04-08-04 04:04 PM

Thanks! :)

William Fuld 04-08-04 04:08 PM

Spoiler:
A lot of people are expecting the final showdown to be an epic, bloody duel that tops all the other fights up to that point. When I say "surprising" I mean by the simplicity and suddeness of it.

Rypro 525 04-08-04 05:56 PM

so it seems that
Spoiler:
it might be realistic, there won't be people's arms and legs comin off and still goin at it.

is there any stuff that had to be cut so the movie could be R?

Scorpio 04-09-04 02:53 AM

I'm going to a Miramax screening today!
