not like they work for free. Heck if they do a great job I'll
contribute $36 or even $54.
So your telling me you read every name?

I try. Besides, some may look familiar. I like the hidden stuff after credits as it is a pay out for those who can actually sit on there ass for a good five minutes more. Not that tough if you ask me.

Does anybody know where I can buy a legit copy of the Drew Struzan Hellboy poster?

I went to go see it yesterday, but I wasn't really that impressed. It had lots less action than I thought it would. Selma Blair's character was poorly implemented. The young FBI guy was all but useless. The plot in general was very vague and lots of things were never explained. I really don't see how this was any better than the Hulk (which I liked by the way).

Let me add my
to this thread. I thought it was a very faithful adaptation.Ron Perlman was great. John Hurt was great. Jeffery Tambor got on my nerves, but that was his job.
While the film was hard to follow in some spots, the only time I got bored was when he was sitting on the roof with the kid spying on John and Liz...
I'm thinking that I might see it again this weekend, and will definately get the DVD.
There's only one question I have...
Spoiler:
Oh, I thought the end battle was along the same lines of the first Men In Black film...

I won't argue that LXG and DD were crap. However, the fact that you just called this a piece of shit without any explanation and/or reference as to why really disqualifies your opinion. DD and LXG sucked because they betrayed the comics, and unless you can point out how this one did such to a point that it invalidates the movie your opinion shall remain null and void IMO.

That said, I absolutely LOVED this movie. I have not clue what people were watching that they can't understand this movie. I've seen it twice, once with a 9 year old & a 10 year old & they had no problem understanding it. I truly think, the reason most people don't like this movie is b/c it's a different type of superhero & they have a hard time excepting that. I thought this movie has great characterization & actors that all did a wonderful job with the roles. Rasputin was probably the weakest character & actor but Hellboy, Liz, Broom, & especially Cronen were all phenomenal.
I thought Pearlman was just perfect, & I don't think there is one person in all of DVDTalk tha constantly bashes CGI as much as I do, but given this movie has a budget of just under $60 million, I thought the CGI was pretty good. Not great, but better than a lot of $100 million + films.
The audience loved the movie when I saw it the first time, some huge laughs & applause at the end (which I could never understand).
I guess I'm in the minority here but I absolutely loved the movie, but then again I loathed Spider-man, so what do I know.

It's so fun to read the elated and disappointed reviews.
I went and saw this for the second time yesterday and while I was waiting for the part where the theater would let us in and stand by the door while the ushers cleaned the theater, I visited Barnes and Noble. There I thumbed through a trade paperback of Seed Of Destruction (I haven't read it since it was first released, so I wanted a fresh imprint) and I was stoked to find that the model was followed to the T.
The comic never really utilized "My Dinner With Andre" type expositions to get the story across. It moves forward through scenes of HB flying through the air with his fist cocked and spouting some wise ass dialogue. I love the comic and in no way mean to insult it when I say that the film had a more warm hearted take on the character. I’ve read ‘em all (asfarasIknow) and always felt a little alienated by his character. Just like Batman (in the comics and cartoon), this was an individual who I would be a little afraid to hang out with.
So to all those “boo hoo. It was a mindless action flick and the characters weren’t developed” reviews, I say this: Read the comic book.
What del Torro and Mignola did with this flick gave very beautiful depth to the original source material. That doesn’t happen very often. The source usally remains static. For me at least, when I dig out all my old Hellboy comics to re-read (I haven’t been keeping them in order, so it’s gonna take some time) I know that I will enjoy them even more.
BTW, It’s a really good sign when a movie is better the second time you see it. I will be seeing this at least four times while it’s on the big screen (probably seven, actually) and, well, I guess I will just pass on the DVD (not.).

Think he was stating that the comic book is pretty much just the same as the film. Abe is never really explained what he is and everything else is as is just about.
