^^They did do that. They were called minstrel shows back in the day. Black face and the "shuck and jive" and all that. That was racist, and yet it was done to be funny. This Wayans comedy doesn't have any ill will attached to it.
Also, in Silver Streak (I believe), Gene Wilder walked around a subway station with shoe polish on and a boom box pumping music in his ear pretending to be black.
So it's not like it hasn't happened the other way before.

Stupidest movie ever - White Chicks
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0381707/
so its ok for some black gusy to dress up as white girls?
I sure there would be outrage and tons of people calling a movie racist if there was white guys playing black girls

Looks pretty bad but my vote for stupidest movie ever is still Panic Station/Plains of Heaven http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0084510/ From what I recall there isn't a single line of dialog (ok maybe one) for the first 1/2 hour. That''s about all I could stand before having to turn it off

yeah - dis moobee arr der stupiderest.
And as for the racism comment - that was dealt with in the thread we had last month for this film and someone brought up racism in that thread. Someone posted an image of the cover art for the movie Soul Man where C. Thomas Howell puts on the blackface makeup.
Looks like it might be funny to me - guess I'm really dumb.

Yeah, let's see what would happen if they made a movie like that today.
Let the crying begin.

I have to admit this looks sooooo very bad. The trailer was so terrible my brain started to shrink watching it. All the awfulness of the premise aside, one thing that stuck with me was how wretched the "makeup" used to make the black guys into white women was. They looked like Frankenstein's daughters or something. And the trailer has them going on about how attractive they're supposed to be?? Yeah, right.
