Agreed, and not only is it a great part three but one of the best films ever.

I hope The Empire Strikes Back would win for part 2! Otherwise the poll would have no credibility

I'd have to go with The Godfather Part II far and above The Empire Strikes Back.

Raiders was by far the best movie. The only one that comes close to dethroning Return of the King is Return of the Jedi.

I went with Indy.

And am I the only one who thinks Fellowship was definitely he best of the LotR movies? I loved them all, but Fellowship is just it for me.

Return of the King by far, although Jedi and Last Crusade are no slouch.

Last Crusade is good but it doesn't hold a candle to ROTK.

Now Raiders...that is different. I would put Raiders against any movie EVER made and feel it is the best. I have preached for many years that Raiders is THE perfect film and there is not a flaw in it. Not one. But that is a discussion for another thread.

A truly good sequel can stand on its own while still continuing the overall story of the series, and for that The Last Crusade is by far the best (and since there are a lot of fanboys on the boards, you're right, The Lord of the Rings will probably win every poll that they are in)(but its funny, most of the people voting for Return of the King aren't posting because I see a lot more posts for other movies than I do RotK).
was someone paying attention in the thread about sequels where i said that TT and rotk aren't sequels? :P

But they are parts 2 and 3 of a trilogy, and the thread is asking for "best part 3 in a trilogy?" so ROTK is fine there.

I stick by my choice of ROTK, even after seeing Revenge of the Sith which I loved.

The Next Karate Kid never happened, so I'm going with the final chapter of the Daniel Larusso saga, The Karate Kid Part III.

You are not alone - Fellowship is far and away the best of the trilogy. I loved the first two, but didn't think RotK was anything better than good.

My choice as well, for some reason it stuck with me more than any other 3rd installment in a trilogy. It sounds stupid but I have no idea why.......I just may have to watch this again soon now as well.

First LOTR: 11/10
Second: 9.5/10
Third: 9.2467/10

I like how the first one is just one big adventure moving from place A to B, to C, etc... plus there was nothing emotional. The third one was just too sappy for me, I love the movie, but in the same way I like Indiana Jones or Star Wars. It's just light-hearted fun to me.

Last Crusade aint even half the movie Raiders of the Lost Ark is. And Revenge of the Sith is leaps and bounds better than Episodes I & II.
