Crusade, ROTK, DotD for me.

SW:RotJ would get my vote for WORST third part ever, followed closely by Godfather Part III.

Its either RoTK or Army of Darkness for me. I chose RoTK because I liked FoTR and TT a lot , but Evil Dead 1/2 were just okay for me.

I picked ROTK, but for what its worth, I liked Mad Max III the best of those movies.

Last Crusade, it's a great film on its own, and even better with the first 2.

Rocky III

- Mr. T
- Apollo trains Rocky
- The series should have ended here, in my opinion

I would agree it is the best third act but he first one is the best movie ever made IMHO.

'nother vote for the karate kid part III

there's nothing better than centering a plot around sacred bonsai trees and the rift that is created between an old asian man and his overaged teenage buddy.

Lord of the Rings are three of the greatest films ever made. I think it's safe to assume that they will win every single poll that is put forth by members here.

But each of The Lord of the Rings films can't stand very well each on its own as an individual movie. People can try to say that they do, but you really have to have the others in order for it all to make sense. They're actually just three parts of one long movie, not three different movies, so in a way they aren't really true sequels and Return of the King shouldn't even be part of the poll. A truly good sequel can stand on its own while still continuing the overall story of the series, and for that The Last Crusade is by far the best (and since there are a lot of fanboys on the boards, you're right, The Lord of the Rings will probably win every poll that they are in)(but its funny, most of the people voting for Return of the King aren't posting because I see a lot more posts for other movies than I do RotK).

Yes. It was the best one. Plus it had a Hellboy preview, so that didn't exactly hurt it.

...IMHO

I know a lot of people didn't like it, but I agree. I thought Once Upon a Time in Mexico was by far the best in the series. In my opinion It's not even close to being the best third part in a trilogy, but I think its the best of its series. It could have used a little more Salma Hayek, but Depp is always great so he made up for it in an entertaining way.

if i did a best part one, or best part 2 in a trilogy, using the same movies as above, fotr and ttt will defenatly not win.

I disagree, I think TTT is the best of that trilogy, although maybe not the best 2nd movie in trilogy overall.

ROTK by a landslide. Only 3rd part I can think of that is my favorite of the trilogy.

I think that in the case of The Three Colors Trilogy you have the third film, Red, being THE VERY BEST OF THE TRILOGY.

As good as ROTK and Last Crusade are, they aren't the best of their respective series.
