Too bad, I loved Old School and thought it was easily the funniest movie out of 2003. I can see why Phillips would want to hold back, but if he ever decided to change his mind, I'd be there opening night for OS2

I loved Old School and Road Trip but personally I don't like seeing sequels to comedies like them, because the sequels end up sucking. I'd rather see a whole different movie. Todd Phillips is doing the right thing by not doing a sequel and moving on. I'm sure Starsky and Hutch will be better than the average Stiller/Wilson team up movie, simply because Phillips is doing it. And I hope his next film is another funny as hell comedy about something completely different

Eh I think Phillips has his head up his ass too. Let's be honest, Phillips got lucky being given the chance ot make Road Trip. Those producers, who also produced Old School, while they did draw on Phillips talent, are also much a part of the success of those films. They have every right to tag their name along with the marketing. Now, Eurotrip may be junk, but let's be honest here...anyone who knows the name "Todd Phillips" will also be keen enough to read the credits and see he had nothing to do with the film. Your average person has NO CLUE who he is, nor will they ever. Is it really a smear on him? Do people in Hollywood really think all of a sudden he made Eurotrip? No, only your average tv watcher might, but in that case those people don't have a freakin clue who he is anyway. Nor do they know what the difference is b/w a director, producer, writer, gaffer, anything anyway. It's a moot point, Phillips is being silly. IMO. I can't imagine it's ever good karma to bad mouth an entire studio.
