Luc Besson directs.......Madonna !?

I was surprised to learn recently that Luc Besson (one of my favorite directors), directed Madonna's latest video "Love Profusion". I thought surely that had to be a mistake when I read that, so I check her official website and sure enough. Then I went to MSN and downloaded the video. He did a nice job. But it looks nothing like his usual style. I'm kind of curious as to why he's doing music videos now (are they friends?). For those who haven't seen the video, it's almost identical to that Estee Lauder ad where they use to same song but model Carolyn Murphy dances around in that. I'm assuming Luc directed that too. Also curious as to what Luc has been up to lately, I went to IMDB. The man is extremely busy with producing and writing according to his search results, but nothing on the horizan as a director. In fact, the last movie he directed was "The Messenger". Has he given up directing?

I believe he stated some time ago that he no longer had any desire, as least at that point in time, in directing features and wanted to concentrate more on writing and producting. With a go signal now imminent concerning The Professional sequel I hope he changes his mind, but I suppose we'll all find out soon enough.

I just hope he someday decides to do Mr. Shadow, the proposed sequel to The Fifth Element.

This thread got me all excited, I thought he was going to direct a movie again. Yes, I am ridiculous to get that excited over the possibility of ever having to see Madonna in a movie, but I can't help it. I really like Luc Besson and wish he would make movies again.

Luc Besson is good when he's not making a vanity project for his wife.

So sad, and yet so very true, man do I miss the guy who did Nikita. With how medicore his last few films were you'd think he was running to projects with female leads just so he could keep Milla in his bed. As for the writing and producing kick he's been on I mean have you seen Taxi and the sequels/ Jet Li vehicles etc...? Please....

Didn't Besson say he only wanted to make 10 movies?
