Saw it in the move theater and just bought the DVD used for $10.

Love the movie (no brainer action movie, but fun) and will be seeing "The T2" also.

Another country, another girl, another car...

Did you watch the same Equillibrium I saw? B/c it is definitely NOT an action movie. The director says so himself in the commentary.

Just because "director's vision" is something else, doesn't mean it can't be both.

Some people consider Starship Troopers to be social commentary but you'd be hard pressed to argue that its not an action movie.

True, but I don't see how Equillibrium is an action movie. Just b/c a movie has "action" in it, does not automatically make it an action movie. Transporter is a flat-out action movie, nothing else, it's in the action genre. Equiillibrium is not. Thus, I stand by my decleration that Transpoter is the best American made flat out action movie of the past 5 plus years, maybe even longer.

I'm sorry Equilibrium is an action movie. There are long scenes with no point but to show the action, the fighting and such. Their fighting style is definately a major part of the film. A film can embody many genres, and action is one in Equilibrium, regardless of what high horse the director would like to put his movie on.

And The transporter...hardly an American film. Produced and written by the french, filmed in europe, directed by an asian man. Not very american really. (Not that I have a point, but I'm an ass who likes telling people they're wrong)

For those who like the character of the Transporter, you've all seen the BMW short film series The Hire, right?

Whats sad is that any one of the Hire shorts is better than the original Transporter. They should have stuck with the whole Transporter thing like someone said earlier instead of making him find that girl.

Agree with Ryo...I was kind of hoping Transporter would have a little bit more car chases than just one.

I realize that the director Corey Yuen was first a fight choreographer (Jet Li uses him almost all the time) but I think he certainly proved that he can also direct a very lively and quite hilarious car chase in the beginning of the movie.

I believe that was the scene during which I said, out loud to myself, "Ok, this movie... not very good."

It's a fun movie, plain and simple. Just because it doesn't delve into deep thought and it's not directed by Kurosawa doesn't mean it's not 'good'.

From: Hell - see you when you get here.
it was a sub par action movie with good driving sequence and good idea, weighed down by horrible acting, plot... and pretty much everythigng else..well..the girl was hot, but couldn't act her way out of a paper bag.
Now if Snatch 2 or Bigger Snatch or Scratch My Snatch.. or whatever they want to call it came out, i'd be all up for seeing that movie.. the first one was excellent.

Shouldn't that be a duffle bag?

i think JS rocks as an action guy and liked his character, but thought that other than him the 1st film sucked. Hopefully the 2nd one will be better... doubt I'll see it on the big screen, maybe dvd rental, that is, unless i hear gr8 things about it here...

Loved it. I'll definitely be waiting for the sequel, although I'm not going to be expecting very much.

I never said it had to be deep. But there was way too much for me to really believe any of it. I didn't even say anything when they blew up his house and he come away unscathed, but when he managed to beat up about 50 guys in that warehouse... sorry, but that was a bit too much. I was half-expecting the end of the movie to consist of him chasing Shu Qi's father to the top of the Eiffel Tower, and take him out there, then leap from the top of the tower to the ground.

Ah well, enough bitching. It was a fun movie, but a bad plot and bad acting screwed up a great premise. The reason I'm interested in a sequel is because of the premise, which I think could still be well-utilized. Hopefully they can find a chick with better acting skills this time.

Looks sick! Damn, i liked the first one a lot, though I would have liked to see more transporting, but its cool.

That Asian girl is the first one is

This trailers has a lot of shots of shirts be taken off, and whats up with the freaky goth girl, even though she is scary looking she give me a tingle in my pants still.

I am all over this.

What a downgrade, he is now rolling in a Audi, I like Audi but I am sorry

BMW>Audi

I'll be going to see this, Jason Statham is fun to watch - and so is Amber Valletta - but I hope the kid either isn't as annoying as he seems in the preview, or that he is in the movie for as long as he is in the preview. Kid-in-Peril movies need to be careful about making the kid so annoying that we don't even care that he is in peril, ala "Mercury Rising"

I loved the first one although it didnt seem to know how to end, the director said in some interviews they want him to edit it down to a PG-13, which is kind of sad but hopefully the DVD will have the longer fight scenes like the first one did.

I'm hoping for a recut of the first the coincide with the second. I hate double dips but I prefered the delete scene versions of the fights. Here's hoping the sequel is even better than the first.

Niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice trailer! I always enjoy Statham's performances and this looks to be no different. I will miss the 7 Series BMW from the first film but that Audi A8 looks rather nice as well! Thanks for the linky OP!
