Ethan Suplee??

Just saw the commerical for The Butterfly Effect and they advertise the actors in it... "Starring Ashton Kuchar, Amy Smart and Ethan Suplee".. Ethan Suplee??? I actually like his work, and after looking at his filmography realized he has been in some great movies... but does anyone really know who he is and is it worth mentioning him in an ad?

Not sure if you aren't clear as to who he is or even what he looks like, but Ethan has indeed been in some great movies over the years. I first saw him on Boy Meets World as one of the school bullies and found him to be a delight any time he was on screen.

Others will surely remember him from his roles in Mallrats (as the guy trying to see the picture in the Magic Eye poster the whole movie), American History X (one of the racist friends of Ed Norton), or in Blow (as one of George's friends from earlier in his drug days), just to name a few.

Definitely a talented guy and I'm always happy to see him pop up in a movie here and there and know he's still getting work, because he certainly deserves it, even if he's not really a leading role sort of actor.

Al... Oh, I know who he is and liked him ever since Mallrats, but was just surprised to see him "advertised".. I watch a fair amount of movies and didn;t even know his name.. just knew him as that big guy.

In the trailers he looks bugged, with that goth make up and spiked mohawk.

He has his own action (inaction) figure from Mallrats.

On a side note, what's with the Mallrats & clerks cartoon style? Could it be some kinda hint at what's coming in that supposed clerks cartoon movie?

Oh, and Ethan Suplee is great. I heard he was also the poo demon in Dogma. And he was the security guard in John Q. He just looks silly in butterfly effect though

I noticed him in Cold Mountain - he plays basically the same character.

I know of him just through the Kevin Smith movie's, but I have noticed him since turning up in all kinds of other stuff (American History X, Blow).

Ofcourse, I mainly think of him as 'that fat guy'. Christ, he's huge. Every time I see him, I can't help but think in the backof my mind, 'He better do something about that before he winds up the way of John Candy and Chris Farely.'

Yeah, but he doesn't seem like the sort of guy who's into subtance abuse like Farley was. I'm not saying he's out of the woods, but drugs AND a bad body composition is much worse.

At the risk of repeating Star Wars Guy:

Southern Soldier: "General, the North is attacking with scooners!"
General Suplee: "You dumb bastard. They aren't schooners, they're sailboats."
