I'll probably pick it up simply to try to replicate the theater experience I had with this movie ... around the last week of distribution, only my friends and myself in the theater, and drunk off our asses shouting at the screen.

Well, I just bought it yet yesterday - I can't help it, Jason was my childhood hero growing up
I was a little pissed however at the fact that it was really Freddy's movie but hey, they had to develop something for a story and IMO it worked pretty good.
The acting is horrendous but with that said, I feel this movie has one of the creepiest horror shots ever:
If you're a huge fan of either series, you'll love it.

It's not scary, but for either series, it's a pretty amazing film.
Freddy returns to being the dark and perverted child molestor he was in the first film.
Jason goes back into the shadows.
The fight scenes kick butt.
And the teens are well drawn out (at least the one's who live longer than 10 minutes).
