It's Dr. Octopus...but he's not scary. Kind of blah. Interesting opening teaser but not very special.

I'm unimpressed. Like someone else said, looks like the same movie, same look with a different villain. And I really wish they would drop the stupid lovey-dovey scenes with Dunst. That was the worst part of the first film, after the horrible Green Goblin costume.

unfortunately, thats my feeling as well.
the chemistry between them wasn't very good, and the scenes were horribly over-written. i was more excited reading a synopsis of the trailer a few weeks back than i was actually seeing it (that crappy streaming video quality didn't help).

Dr. Octopus is played by Afred Molina, the same guy who did Snidely Whiplash in the Dudley Do-Right live action movie. I knew he looked familiar. Odd choice. Jack Nicholson probably would be a better fit for the role.

I'd like to see more than one villain. One of things that was great about X-men was that you got to see several villains and how they used their powers.

Have you ever read the comics?

Well it does look nearly identical to the first film...besides Doc. Ock...Spidey's still a ***** that won't commit to the love of his life...

1. Alfred will be great!

2. IMHO, multiple villians was among the many things that kinda spoiled the Batmovies.

i think he will do a fine job. he was also the Cont de Reynaud (sp?) in Chocolat and i liked him in that.

his filmography says he had a part in Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark... but i don't remember him. anyone able to describe the character he played? name given is Satipo.

He was the guy who took the gold idol from Indy, had the spiders on his back, and he swung over the pit with Indy's whip leaving him behind...

He was also the Mid-Eastern husband in "Not without my Daughter". He's British but he can play Ethnic Non-Brit roles well.

I most familiar with Alfred Molina from Species. He also played Frida's wife in that Salma Hayek movie, but I can't think of the name right now.

Molina is a solid actor who can play a wide variety of roles. Nicholson would've been a cheesy choice as Doc Ock.
Spidey has always had a mushy storyline with MJ (she's supposed to be hot, who can blame him )
Too many villains does not make for good movies (see Batman Forever and Batman and Robin). It can kill a Franchise.
Overall the trailer is cool. I'll be there when it hits theaters.

I love the teaser.

Completely caught me off guard, with its slow start, but then "bam." The images look great. The music is solid. Molina will be a great Doc Ock.

Can't wait to see more.

Jack Nicholson is 65 years old. Woulda looked a little silly with Doc Ock's arms AND a walker to get around on...

Dr Connors (Dylan Baker) actually has a speaking role in the film... so I wonder if we'll see The Lizard.

Wow, looks incredible.

Show more story in the trailer? IMO, they showed plenty. Harry Osborne is obviously in it a lot again (setting up Gobby 2 perhaps) and has the chance to stab Spidey. Furthering the Mary Jane-PP relationship but throwing in another guy. Etc...

As for that relationship, what are you talking about? Less plot, less interaction, more... uh, punching?

Is JJ in this one again? I noticed in the brief montage of characters that he wasn't shown.
