Lord of the Rings

It was close, Star Wars Episode 4-6 had a deep impact on me and really effected me culturally as well as the way I view movies and the movie going experience. But LOTR is even richer in terms of storytelling, characters, sets, costumes, backstory, the autonomous world its created and the way it will age for me as I get older. Like I said, it was close.

And how can I choose LOTR over SW when ROTK isn't even out? If ROTK is worse than FOTR or TTT it will be the biggest disappointment in my movie going life. Bar none.

And I know there won't be any Ewoks in ROTK like ROTJ.

*And the fact people actually voted for SW Ep. 1-3 over 4-6 is quite a surprise. I guess major studios are right that up to date special effects is better than story and characters when all is said and done.

protest vote for the matrix...

wanted to vote for LotR, but i reserve judgement...could be amazing.

star wars OT is up there as well.
so is terminator.
temple of doom killed indy's chances.
die hard 2
never really cared for the godfather trilogy.
BttF is the lightweight out of this bunch, but still good.

I go with Star Wars 4-6, followed closely by the Godfather trilogy.

I like almost all of the trilogies listed in the poll, but they all seem to be more or less the same thing.

I picked other and instead of picking a favorite, I'll just list a few that weren't mentioned...

Once Upon a Time in China
El Mariachi, Desperado, Once upon a Time in Mexico
Evil Dead Trilogy
Mad Max trilogy

Difficult one between SW4-6 and LOTR. Picket SW4-6 because:
- Haven't seen ROTK yet
- SW4-6 made such a huge impression on me; 20 years after ESB I'm still a SW-fanatic despite the dreadful SW1

I voted Godfather, but LOTR and BTTF are right up there. I like SW, but rotj and the ewoks kill the end of it. I guess people voting for the prequels is a joke since they prove the point that anything that GL touches except for the back story is crap. He can make a god story, but he needs to leave the details to people who know how to write a screenplay and take care of the details.

I walked out of TPM thinking that something is missing but I kept telling myself that it's just a slow start to two more movies. AOTC was ruined by a horrible romance and no clone wars. Instead we get a few cartoons to tell us about the clone wars. I'll reserve judgement for E3 until I see it.

Actually I voted for the SW prequels in the poll because I had a brain cramp and thought 1-3 meant the FIRST three movies released... d'oh!

Damn right!

Other than the Godfather Trilogy, all the other movies listed are fine for mindless fun, but come nowhere near the quality level of cinema that Bleu, Blanc & Rouge is.

Rush hour trilogy, when its completed, will rule. And props to American pie, and qatsi trilogies.

Best by far though, is LOTR.

Come to think of it, no Death Wish movies are on the list and I don't see Rambo either.

Alien.

Hey, it was a trilogy once, and as soon as we get Die Hard 4, Indiana Jones 4 et al, THOSE won't be trilogies any more either.
