in my opinion, T3 was allot better than what i expected

is it better than T2? Heck, no!
T3 lacks the... umm... "destruction in epic propotion" feel to it (compare with T2). i mean, yeah, the chase was good, explotions, gun fight & such... but James Cameron used the real helicopter on real highway (not some small road on gettho area)...
T2 blew up a real building... & flipped of a real 8-wheeler-truck
& the way the cinematographer use the color, lightning Fx & stuff in T2 makes the film looks much flashy & nice (although most of the action took place at night... which is good, it made the CGI/FX looks more believable)

& also... in T3, John Conner looks like a big wuss.
he was great, brave kid in T2. now he's a wimp... he didn't show any intelegent at all, just whinning the whole time... i didn't see any leadership attitude AT ALL on John Conner in T3.

it is still a good fun mindless action movie though... but in the series, T3 must landed in the last position, where T2 grabbed the 1st thropy followed by original Terminator (for it's great suspense but lack of cool FX & "destruction in epic porpotion")

just my opinion

I really liked it a lot after watching it for a 2nd viewing today on DVD. I love the crane scene and I love the scene with Arnold vs. the Terminatrix in the bathroom. I was a bit dissapointed when I saw it at the theater because of expectations and the ending...but now I've settled down a bit and enjoy the film much more.

One question though
Spoiler:
why did Arnold look for the keys in the sun visor (like John showed him in T2), find them, and then hot wire the truck anyway?

Something besides keys fell out...can't remember what though.

Also, I think this is one of the most beautiful endings to a movie I've ever seen...it's just the opposite of what you are expecting. And the shot of the prairie land at the end...just amazing.

i think it'd get better if I could watch the movie in reverse. the kick azz chase scene was just too big and cool NOT to be the climax of the film (as they were in T1 and T2). Overall I liked T3 and it did a lot of things right... but pacing, IMO, was not one of them.

well, he IS supposed to be rebelling against the whole idea of becoming any kind of leader etc. I never thought of John in T2 as being "great" or "brave". One can only assume that the war is what molds john into the kick azz leader he eventually becomes. This isn't so weird... plenty of examples of that kind of thing happening in real life. With respect to acting, the T2 john was marginally better than it was in T3 but thats about it IMO.

I believe what he found in the sun visor was a watch - not keys. It orginally seemed that was a deliberate, but subtle, hint indicating this was the same Terminator from T2. Of course, considering how T2 ended, I can't imagine how this would be the same one. And later, Arnold admits he is a different model - but, assuming the basic movie rule that anything you see on screen is always relevant somehow to the plot, why show him checking the sun visor if, in fact, he was different?

I rented this movie the other day & went in with very low expectations. A couple of my buddies watched it as well (unbelieveable that none of us went to see it in the theater) and all of us went in with low expectations.

All three of us liked it though. We were actually surprised that word of mouth wasn't better for this film.

I loved the ending. I would definitely recast Clair Danes character and John Conner though. A couple of the parts played for laughs feel a little flat but all in all, a good sequel.

My major problem with the terminator movies are...you send one terminator in the first one & he can't kill Sarah Conner.

So...you send another one (just one) to kill John Conner in T2. Dontcha think they should have figured out to send more than one terminator for the third one???
