This is off topic but any of you guys seen this lil anime called Cat Soup? Won some awards, it like 34 minutes long, has no dialogue, and the only quote on back subtley states "It's Hello Kitty on Acid." I feel like picking it up but $20 for 34 minutes is just.. steep.
Yeah, pretty good weird short film.

Back on subject, has anyone anywhere in the threads mentioned this review? I ran across it tonight:

Only one paragraph of that "review" was actually about the film.

Talk about masturbatory writing. This guy will go blind long before Tarantino.

I have seen that review before, perhaps on this forum. A bad review like that doesn't bother me: I still love the film. But the guy is writing from complete ignorance about filmmaking. He thinks that 4 months is enough time for Tarantino to see Matrix Reloaded in theaters and then make a movie where he rips off the "Burly Brawl."

Not only that, but I think Kill Bill was done filming before Reloaded came out, and the original script was written several years beforehand. If anything, Reloaded could've ripped off the scene from Kill Bill.

Um, yeah...or maybe BOTH movies ripped-off their respective scenes from the countless dozens of other Asian films with similar scenes. A recent example is Jet Li taking on an entire mojo by himself in Fist of Legend

Pauly wrote "an entire mojo" which would be a strange thing if he meant that thing above, which would imply that one could fight only part of it.

There's going to be another anime sequence, in Kill Bill: Volume 2? Cool, hopefully it will be better than the first!

P.S. That review that slammed Kill Bill: Volume 1 was total shit.

one question, i forgot, was any of the crazy 88 sequence in color. i am pretty sure that the first part (there was a big fight before she battled go go right) was in color, and then it went to black and white.

Yes, a good portion of the Crazy 88 fight was in color in the US cut. It's only the most gratuitously violent part that was shown in B&W.

A month or two? That's foolish, since Volume 2 already opens about three weeks after Vol. 1 is supposed to be released.

Uma has been nominated for Best Actress: Drama Golden Globe. So if she wins, could she be nominated again for Vol 2 next year?

I sure hope so, especially since Volume 2 looks like it will be even better than Volume 1!

Volume 2 is coming out on DVD on April 16th? I HIGHLY doubt that.

It may not even be out of the theatres by that time.

Still, looking forward to February 20th when it is released theatrically.

Really? The theatrical release dates that I received *yesterday* confirmed a 20 February release.

I mean, what could be keeping a film that was finished back in September?

Do you have any official citation of this new theatrical release date?

Because, um:
