From Roland Emmerich

I hadn't heard of this until now, but the trailer looks pretty cool. The plot doesn't sound too interesting, but its got a nice cast.

What I'm wondering after watching this trailer is how much of the movie is before the disaster and how much is after the disaster.
Too much of showing the earth getting its ass kicked and its just another natural disaster film. I sort of doubt its going to go into mad max-post apocalyptic territory, probably going to stick to a time period within a couple weeks of the event.
Sadly I think this may be another Armageddon, even though the trailer looks mighty cool.

According to IMDB, the disaster is the climax of the movie, not the beginning...which is kind of a shame. Although I'm suspecting that the cities crumbling may start west in California earlier in the movie and work it's way east to New York for the end.
Dennis Quaid plays "A climatologist who tries to figure out a way to save the world from abrupt global warming. He must get to his young son in New York, which is being taken over by a new ice age. "
I'm assuming Jake Gyllenhaal (who's listed second in the cast) plays the son.
This movie might have been more interesting a few years back...but after Independence Day, Deep Impact, Armageddon and The Core, I'm getting a little tired of "end of the world" movies...but at least Hollywood keeps finding new ways to blow it up.

I can't believe they keep giving this director access to tons of money.
That said, I looooove disaster flicks and so does my best friend - his birthday happens to fall on the day this comes out, so I know what I'll be doing on May 28th. The story sounds really stupid, but the trailer looks awesome - I love it... as long as it's not terrible like Independence Day, Godzilla, Stargate, and The Patriot I'll be happy. Sheesh - people complain about Paul Anderson ruining movies... eh, to each his own I guess.

The trailer showed this movie had a chance as a "Post-apocolyptic" world movie, but that synopsis just sounds absolutely horrible, hopefully they change it - it's possible, afterall they did it with The Core and turned a turd into, well, a turd but still you get my point, right? heh.

Combine all of Paul Anderson's films into one and it still wouldn't match the classic which is "ID4".
Trailer looks cool btw.

I saw this trailer in theaters before Matrix Revolutions, and had never heard about it previously. I may be the only one here, but did anyone else think that the title of the movie was supposed to be "Memorial Day"? They did show the real title "Day After Tomorrow," but i was just thinking that was a tagline or it was leading up to the title.

Roland Emmerich is a whore.
The trailer looks very good - very chilling (excuse the pun for a film about global warming) and stylish.
The problem with Emmerich's films is that he makes the central action of the film some stupid task, and uses the disaster as a backdrop to a very dull plot.
A guy looking for his son? I know in screenwriting school they teach you how to write characters that the audience can identify with, but isn't a world disaster enough for people to deal with? Does it really have to focus on one guy looking for a possibly dead child who we know will turn out to be okay?
Fah. I don't know about this one.
Best trailer of the year, though.

I love movies about mass destruction (although I thought "The Core" stank). The twisters in LA scene was jawdropping - I have reacurring nightmares about tornados and it looks exactly like what I saw on the screen - wow!)

I was impressed. I think if anyone could do a good disaster flick its Roland Emmerich. Sorry but I loved Independence Day still the best world-getting-f***ed movie.

In any case, we know that even if the movie sucks the 3-disc DVD SE is going to kick nine kinds of ass.
