wheres all the matrix hype?

Is it just me, or is REVOLUTIONS hardly being hyped at all? I've honestly seen more trailers and ads and print ads for BROTHER BEAR then Matrix Revolutions. I guess they knew people would go regardless of marketing. I remember when RELOADED came out and you could literally feel the excitment in the air (at least I could, in my movie geek sorta way) but now there is none. A few days ago I was thinking about the matrix movies and said to myself "holy sh-t! its coming out the 5th!" I had totally forgotten.

I think a lot of people were so put off by RELOADED, no one seems to care much anymore. I found RELOADED to be brilliant, so i can't wait for the next one.

I was at the movies today buying a ticket for AILEN and I asked the guy if I should buy one for the wednesday showing of the matrix, if it was filling up already. he says "uhhhhhhh we haven't sold one ticket for the wednesday 3 pm show"

Oh well. seems people are still loving KILL BILL which is nice to see.

Two words: Rave Scene.

Nothing has done more to kill a franchise since Jar-Jar Binks. Reloaded has really deflated most people's expectations, but I imagine that most people will end up going to see Revolutions at some point, even if they aren't gung-ho about it right away.

I'm not all that excited to see it. The Matrix movies are way overrated and overhyped, IMHO. They're somewhat decent movies, but not nearly as great as you'd be led to believe.

Here's irony for you: TBS showed The Matrix last night, and it was sponsored by ... ROTK!

Edit: Actually, it's the ROTK video game. But it's still weird.

I have to agree with Numanoid... the whole rave party thing left people scratching their heads in bewidlerment. Not to mention, Keanu can NOT carry off a philosophical discussion with "God."

Reloaded left a lot of people with a bitter taste in their mouths, and unlike Star Wars, Matrix didn't have 3 earlier successful films to fall back on.

I'm not too excited about it either. I didn't like Reloaded although I thought the Rave scene was great. The franchise doesn't seem too original to me anymore. It seems to have degenerated into nothing but splashy special effects.

I had to remind myself it was out this week. I totally forgot.

Seems like there has been NO talk of it. No one cares anymore. It'll still make big bucks, but people were definitely put off by Reloaded. It just sucked donkey balls (in some parts) to be blunt.

After Reloaded I have almost no interest in this franchise. I have decided that the story will end in some stupid way , the special effects won't be anything spectacular and the dialouge will continue to be annoying. Yes, I was extremely dissapointed by Reloaded. Yes, I will go see Revolutions - but not because I want to. Because, I'm compelled to. I want to see it all come to an end , so I can say "Ha, I was right".....
Or something like that..

I'll see Revolutions as well, but a part of me wishes the sequels were never made. I could've lived with the original and left the ending to the imagination.

Reloaded was terrible. I actually forgot revolutions was coming out until i read this thread. I've been counting the days until TTT:EE and The Return of the King, so it must have just slipped my mind

I plan on seeing Revolutions, but like the rest of you I'm not in any great rush to. It occured to me this morning that there's only 2 more days until Revolutions is out. 6 months ago I was really hyped up about Reloaded, and while I want to see Revolutions I'm just not that hyped about it. I'm going through the same thing with Star Wars--I will see the last sequel, but I am by no means hyped to see it.

It seems hyped enough to me. I've seen a lot of commericals, ads for it on major websites, newspaper articles, etc...

I still don't completely understand the immense dissapointment everyone had with Reloaded. I hate the rave scene as much as anyone, but I enjoyed the rest of the film.

If you show it, they will come. Do not worry about Revolutions

C'mon guys. Does it really need an ad campaign? My own mother hasn't been to a movie in the past five years, but knows that it's coming out this month. And I'm sure it's still fresh in everyones heads; coming out just five months ago.

Point is, everyone knows the movie. Everyone who is interested in the series will probably go see it. There's really no point in dropping a large sum into a marketing plan. The few trailers, theatrical posters, and internet ads are plenty to get the word out.

NOW, if they would have either ONE, allowed midnight shows, or TWO, made the "Zero Hour" thing a little bigger. I don't think there's anywhere in Phoenix showing it at 7AM. Not---that---I'd---go.

I'll be watching it early Wednesday afternoon. Probably the noon show. I'm expecting it to be very busy, but not sold out. Probably like a show-up-45 minutes-early kind of deal.

Am I the only one who loved Reloaded? Hell, I saw it four times in theaters (twice in 35mm during it's first 24 hours of release and twice in IMAX later during the summer). I'm excited that Revolutions is coming out and I haven't been this pumped up for a movie in a while. I'm there opening day (due to school, I wont make it to the theaters till around 12-ish), but I honestly can't wait to see the film.

I've heard very bad things about Revolutions. Shame too since this series had much promise.

I'm excited too, but there does seem to be a drop in hype. Oh well, i could care less what other people bitch about (rave scene). Reloaded was awesome, and i expect no difference here.

I really enjoyed Reloaded. Thought it was a fantastic piece of entertainment. I don't understand all the loathing, but in the end I was satisfied and that's the most important thing in the world.

I hate people.

Incidentally, Harry Knowles just posted his review at AICN and apparently he absolutely loved REVOLUTIONS... and he ripped Reloaded a new one when it came out. Maybe there's hope yet?

I finally saw RELOADED on DVD a few weeks ago. Eh.

I'll watch Revolutions - probably when it comes out on DVD as well.

Paging PixyJunket...

Hey, I want to see Matrix 3, and that's what matters to me. I kinda like that there's not much hype.

... or whenever the "zero hour" is in your neck of the woods.
