Matrix Trilogy screenings?
Has anyone heard anything about Warner Bros doing a trilogy screening of the Matrix films like New Line is doing with LOTR? I had heard a rumor about it, but haven't seen anything definite. I figured they would do something like this seeing as Warner Bros and New Line are owned by the same parent company.

They may be owned by the same parent company, but that doesn't mean they do everything alike. For example, NL released the LOTR films a year apart from each other, while WB released the Matrix sequels 6 months apart. I even remember reading a NL exec being critical of that release schedule.
One advantage NL has on the re-releases of the first two LOTR films is that they can show the Extended versions on "THE BIG SCREEN FOR THE FIRST AND ONLY TIME." So it's something new to generate interest in them, like the new DC of Alien. With the Matrix films, the Warchoski Bros. seem content with the theatrical cuts, so there's no new footage to draw people in.
Which is not to say an individual theatre may not show a marathon screening of all three films. I remember a co-worker mentioning that a local theatre was planning on a marathon screening of all 3 LOTR films before the New Line plans were announced (the theatre was going to rent prints of the theatrical cuts for the first 2 films). Someone in a newsgroup mentioned a Star Wars marathon when Return of the Jedi was release.
