Well there you go - you didn't tell us you had such a sophisticated sense of humor... "baby blowing spit bubble" and "dog walking into screen door" and "man gets hit in nuts by child". That brand of comedy is waaaay over my head.
Okay, I'm not a fan of the "baby blowing spit bubble" or the "dog walking into the screen door," but I'm all for the "man getting hit in the nuts by a child." But a "child getting hit in the nuts by a man" is simply just funnier.

See, I think "Penis in ear" is funny... it's probably cuz I don't believe in jesus.
While I don't think a "penis in the ear" is funnier, I do laugh at other sorts of gross out humor (such as the dog-eclair scene in Van Widler) or say a Troma movie.

Sure some dick & sex humor can be funny when done right.
Like a Kevin Smith film.

I'm sure the movie studio had the rights to the "Scary Movie"
franchise and not the Wayans brothers.

Weak movie.

That's all I got to say about that

(It's pretty bad where the only Laugh out Loud scene is due to a tribute of the superior Airplane!, afterall, they're all counting on us.)

Saw this on Friday night and thought it sucked. Nielson was totally wasted, the most unfunny character in the movie. He didn't even get a laugh. Anthony Anderson on the other hand was pure comic genious in this. Stole the show. Eminem guy was pretty funny too. Everyone else was wasted though.

It's indeed "Scary" that this movie pulled in almost $50 million over the weekend. I don't know what bothers me more - the idea that the majority of the movie-going public wanted to see this film, or the assurance that the majority of the movies that come out of Hollywood will continue to be of this kind of low-brain quality, now that this movie (and others like it) has been a success.

This week, "Scary Movie 3". Last week, "Texas Chainsaw Massacre". Well, I guess this is good news for the makers of "Elf", "Cat in the Hat" and "The Haunted Mansion". Bad news for the makers of "Master and Commander", "The Missing" and "The Human Stain".

All i have to say is this was the worst movie i have seen this year!
it was like i was watching 4 bad movies at once they didn't tie the spoofs together like in scary movie 1and 2. the acting was the worst, i've seen collage films with better actors.
there were time that i wanted to walk out and sneak into another theater but nothing good was play.
save your money and read a book or learn to speak a differnt language, anything is better than this movie.

This should have been soooo much better. It had some great movies to parody, an awesome trailer, Leslie Nielsen (anything with him in it makes me smile), and directed by Zucker who made the Naked Gun. Too bad this movie wasn't good. I laughed a few times, but all of the best parts were in the trailer. Plus, there is very little that is actually coherent with this one. The Naked Gun's all had plots, and were really, really funny. Definitely wait for DVD on this one. It should have been better. Since it made 50 million this weekend, I hope the obvious next one will be better (which shouldn't be too difficult considering this one).

I heard they filmed Scary Movie 4 along with Scary Movie 3 - or is that another spoof (of The Matrix)

Funny at times, but overall not very amusing. Shame it made so much money.

While I doubt it could take the #1 spot on its opening weekend, Elf could stand to give Matrix Revolutions a run for its money.

Well, the previews did show several Matrix type scenes in the previews that did not make the final cut. Either they will be on the DVD or they are part of a different movie, which is rumored to deal with superheroes and fantasy.

Scary Movie 4 was greenlighted, but as of now, it's in pre-production stages.

A lot of scenes were reshot after initial test screenings, so that's why there are deleted scenes in the television spots and trailer. It's pretty common to have deleted scenes in the promotional material for movies (mostly comedies).

Different people have different senses of humor. What's funny to one person is lame to the next. I don't find "dick in the ear" jokes funny, others like you do.

I'm fine with people having different opinions on what is funny and what isn't... what i don't like are people who take an elitist attitude and shrug off the type of humor in movies like Scary Movie.

You just contradicted yourself. If people have different opinions on what's funny, they're not being elitist by shrugging off that type of humor.

It's just not funny to me. I've seen the first 2 and was bored to death.

I'm by no means an elitist. I like blockbuster type movies, and tend to hate foreign and indy films. I'm just not amused by "potty" humor.

I thought it was hilarious but I guess I just like "potty" humor. Which there wasn't much of, but anyway. But then again I like Super Troopers and Kung Pow Enter the Fist as well. I guess I'm an idiot.

I don't think that's a contradiction. There's a difference between thinking a certain brand of humor isn't funny and coming here and saying something to the effect of how disgusted you are and calling it trash. I think that kind of comment is unfounded, ridiculous and insulting to those that do enjoy it.

For instance, Spooky's comment:

"I don't know what bothers me more - the idea that the majority of the movie-going public wanted to see this film, or the assurance that the majority of the movies that come out of Hollywood will continue to be of this kind of low-brain quality, now that this movie (and others like it) has been a success"

Sorry, but seemingly taking a personal offense to others liking a movie comes off as elitist to me.

Saw it tonight. It was funny. Not hysterical, but still delivers laughs I think, even if they are lo-brow and no-brainers. I'd probably give it a 5.5-6/10

I loved the "Signs" parodies. Charlie Sheen did a good job. Those home videos had me cracking up. Leslie Neilson was of course hilarious. The "8 Mile" jokes weren't all working, but they did mostly. The conversations between George's 2 friends had me laughing out loud. Darryl Hammond made a cameo as a preist, but I can't help but think that there should have been more coming. It was setting up a joke, but never ended it. Of course "The Ring" was getting made fun of about 90% of the movie, some worked and some didn't. I loved the line where...
Spoiler:
the other anchorman was talking on the news and, I can't remember word for word, but it went something like: Our news team has recieved the 'Killer Video' and we've been airing it all day. Here it is again!

SM3 was definitley better than the second, possibly better than the first.

I loved the Signs parody. I was laughing for 10 minutes after the priest is walking by the guy who
Spoiler:
just ran into his wife in the tree and he says, "Tom, I'm gonna need a ride"
. God that killed me.

I get your point now, and agree 100%. I don't think these kind of movies are funny, but that's just me. I'm certainly not going to insult someone, or think less of them, because they have a different sense of humor than me.

Man I loved that part. I couldnt stop laughing during the wake scene! When that dude gives the corpse 'cpr' and her shoes fly off, that was great!

Awesome movie; tons better than those pieces of shit Scary Movie 1 and 2.
