Any New News on "Red Rabbit"?
As a HUGE fan of Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan novels, I wanted to ask if anyone here knew of whether or not, there is going to be a movie of "Red Rabbit"? I heard awhile back that this had been greenlighted, and that Ben Affleck(would prefer Harrison Ford) would again take helm with the role. That was in 2003. I have heard nothing new. Antone know what's up with this, and what Paramount is doing?

Dunno if it's still happening but Affleck would be a better choice than Ford sicne (a) the book was a prequel and (b) Clancy has been quoted stating that he wrote it as a prequel because Affleck is his favourite Jack Ryan in spite of the authors missgivings toward the film version of Sum Of All Fears.

From www.darkhorizons.com :
Paramount has picked "Dawn of the Dead" helmer Zack Snyder to write and direct its adaptation of Tom Clancy's "Rainbow Six," centered on Clancy's shadowy John Clark CIA agent character reports Variety.
The story centers on Clark joining with several colleagues to leave the CIA and create an England-based multinational org designed to battle terrorism. "Rainbow Six" were picked up by the studio six years ago and John Woo was previously attached to direct.
The studio has adapted four of Tom Clancy's books already and is also in development of both "Red Rabbit" and "Without Remorse," the latter utilsing the Clark character in "Rainbow". Peter Berg ("Friday Night Lights") is attached to direct a film version of Clancy's videogame "Splinter Cell." Clark has been portrayed on-screen twice before by actors Willem Dafoe and Liev Schrieber.

Thanks, Chili Palmer. ANy rumours floating about as to who will be the next Clark and Ryan?
Personally, I hope Dafoe comes back as Clark cos I'd rather not see the character de-aged. Don't get me wrong, I loved Liev Schrieber as Clark but I'd rather he star in a film based on Without Remorse.
Slightly off-topic, anyone know when Clancy will write a follow-up to "Teeth of the Tiger"?
