Foreshadowings of future roles

I was watching Waiting for Guffman yesterday when I noticed a shot of Bob Balaban (he played the music teacher) in the auditorium and in the background was an OK pop machine. As some of you may or may not realize, OK was a Coke product test marketed in the mid 90's with cans and cases designed by Daniel Clowes. I know it wasn't intentional, obviously, but it was kind of a foreshadowing of Bob Balaban's future role in Ghost World as Enid's dad, which was based on the Daniel Clowes graphic novel of the same name.

Has anybody else noticed this type of foreshadowing for actor's future roles in movies?

What's all that stuff on your hands, man?

Oh, yeah, 'too much time'.

I did not realise that. If this was in the mid 1990's, wouldn't that have been when Clowes was finishing up 'Like A Velvet Glove'? I find it kinda funny that Coke would have said, 'Hey you know that guys that draws all those grotesque people and sex situations? Let's get him to design our new soda cans!' i don't think I'd drink anything out of a can with one of Clowes drawings on it.

Well, Ben Affleck wrote the introduction to the collected edition of Kevin Smith's Daredevil run back in '99 and went on to play Daredevil.

In 1982's Summer Lovers Darryl Hannah says something like "Sometimes I think I should have been a mermaid" - two years before Splash!
