I Capture the Castle
Anyone seen this film yet?
I caught a screening of it and was not thinking it would
be anything I'd be interested in but I was blown away.
A terrific British comedy/drama about a 17-year-old girl and her family who move into a castle.
Their father, a writer, gets writer's block and the family ends up very poor.
Henry Thomas and Marc Blucas play two Americans who inherit the castle and the family's only hope is to try and marry the girls
off to them.
Tara Fitzgerald plays the girls' stepmother and has some great scenes where she strips in the outdoors and pretty much everywhere. She's a scene stealer in this one.
I won't spoil any more of it but it's funny, well written and has some good performances.
Romola Garai, Rose Byrne, Henry Thomas, Marc Blucas, Bill Nighy, Tara Fitzgerald, Sinéad Cusack, Henry Cavill.
Tim Fywell directs.
This is really one of the best films I've seen this year.
I had a better time here than at "Seabiscuit."

Thanks for the review. This one opens in Houston next week I think, and I was on the fence about seeing it. Might give it a shot now.

FYI,
This is based on the book by the lady who wrote "One-Hundred and One Dalmations".
Can't think of her name now, tho.

What surprised me about the film was that there was a lot of humour in the dialogue. Also, both Henry Thomas and Marc Blucas were wonderfully cast as the two American brothers.
