That scene isn't in Major League, but it is in the sequel.

Hmmm - this whole argument about the FBDO is fascinating. I personally am almost certain I have seen the mystery scene, and I am old enough to remember its original release.
(Warning : SPOILERS for Last of the Mohicans follow) On a similar note - if there are any Last of the Mohicans fans out there - there are two scenes which I have in my mind which were not in the Director's expanded edition DVD. I still have my VHS copy, and I know one of these is on the VHS but not the other (which I could possibly be imagining). I am curious to see who else recalls seeing these scenes: 1) Magua takes a bite out of Col Munro's heart after he cuts it out. 2) The point of Chingachgook's war club comes through Magua's back after he finishes him off near the end of the film. As I said - I have both of these clearly in my mind, but only one is on the VHS tape and neither is on the DTS (expanded) DVD - just for fun, I won't say which one, so the "mass illusion" proponents can have their say. The only time I had seen this movie before buying the VHS tape from Col House was on rental VHS way back when it first came out, and possibly on a premium channel such as HBO - so if there is a difference, it was one of those. |

There is a deleted scene where the announcer says, "The South Park Cows are being molested by the Middle Park Cowboys. I haven't seen a bunch of kids molested like that since Michael Jackson came to town" (or something to that extent). On Comedy Central and the DVDs, the line is cut before the announcer makes a mention of Michael Jackson. |

No, I don't think I am confusing it with DWW - earlier in the film, when talking to Montcalm, Magua says "When the Gray Hair is dead, Magua will eat his heart". I have a very vivid picture of this happening, though it could be in my mind - or maybe from another movie, but not DWW, definitely a human heart. |
yea can we please get back on to ferris beuller

funny how long this has lasted and really has nothing to do with dvd's. Should be in the movie forum.

Yeah, maybe it should get moved to Movie Talk for a few months. Maybe someone there might have the ONE and ONLY screen cap that might exist :)

Then we can try tv talk, after that maybe adult talk. Maybe they can uncover the lost Jennifer Grey nude scence from the police station. |
First off, I've seen Ferris Beuler many times, with the first and majority of those times being on TV. I've never seen this scene in the film.
Granted, I can see why people might believe it exists. Just from the descriptions on this thread I can assemble a pretty clear mental image of the scene, but that doesn't mean it exists. Also, the recollections so far have slight differences. One person says Cameron's eyes move, one says they don't. Until physical proof pops up, which really shouldn't be that hard, it's highly unlikely. Also, regarding South Park. I've watched that show since the beginning, often the original broadcasts, and the announcer has always been cut off. It was part of the joke, after the announcer making a number insensitive celebrity comments. The reason people remember him saying "Micheal Jackson" after "I haven't seen a kid molested like that since...." is because he's the obvious celebrity choice. The viewers completed the line themselves, but now it's permanently etched in their memories. It's not like Matt and Trey don't ever change things. They have in the past changed things in the space between the Wednesday premeire and the reshowings of the episode later that week. However, having seen the original airing, the line simply doesn't exist. I too have been a victim of possible false memory. When I was a kid I saw Flight of the Navigator in theaters. I distinctly remember a scene where, while the ship is in the ocean, some dolphins swim by and the ship translates the dolphin speak. This scene has never shown up in any video version. To me, it seems logical that the scene exists, since it would fit perfectly and make sense in the film, especially since nothing of note happens while they're underwater in the current version. However, while the scene is vividly real to me, I still conceed the very real possibility that it doesn't exist and my mind made it up. |
