are there any horror movies that break "the rules" (scream rules)
they are
1. you can never drink or do drugs
2. you can never have sex
and
3. you can never say "I'll be right back"
I can't think of too many since, showing t&a (or having sex) automatically makes you dead meat, saying "I'll be right back" means as they say in scream, you will either get stabbed or when you get back, you will find the other person dead.

If there is ever a Most Dead On The Money Post contest at this board, caiman just won this year's competition.

I think the title should be changed from horror movies to slasher movies. Because these rules don't apply to non-slasher movies such as Nosferatu, The Others etc etc. But they do apply to movies such as Halloween, Friday The 13th and Nightmare On Elm Street.

In general most horror movies do follow the cliches of the genre. While they might not be to the dime, they will usually go with that, or obviously be trying to go against it. For instance, in Jason X there was an obvious attempt to buck the trend, by having EVERY character have sex, and have the one character who wasn't get killed. Mildly amusing nonetheless. And yes, this truly only applies to the slasher type flicks.

Cherry Falls also blatantly defied the "no sex" rule by having the killer stalking virgins.
Rule #1 is broken quite often, most prominently in the first Halloween. Laurie Strode smokes a joint, in the daytime, in the sheriff's daughter's car no less.
Rule #2 is followed somewhat, although it's implication that the surviving character must be a virgin is a bit off base. Granted, a lot of the heroines aren't screwing their brains out on screen, but in many cases it is implied they do have sex.
