All these posters seem a little lazy to me. Sure, the first couple were cool, but where are the badass, 70's-style posters this flick needs?

i got a feeling after the way grindhouse turned out, we're going to be seeing some pretty bland and straight forward promotional material for this one.

Sadly, you're probably right. Every poster for this flick so far has been a photoshop job with little inspiration. And I'm willing to bet QT would have gone a much different direction had the whole "grindhouse" thing caught on.

I think it's early yet. The first ones were teaser posters and this new batch are just the lame character posters (Love the ' . . . is a Basterd' line though) that most movies get.

I imagine we'll get something with more of a Leone tinge closer to release.

I still hate Tarantino's logic behind sourcing his film scores. He claims he doesn't want a composer to fuck it up. That is just a lazy stance to take and is oddly distrustful of his chosen and beloved medium.

Didn't he already use these in Kill Bill?

Exactly what I thought he'd do--he got Morricone to score his film anyway. Without old Ennio having to lift a finger.

I take it as he knows exactly what he wants but he might not have the musical knowledge to communicate it to a composer. So he just takes what he already knows and makes it his own.

Re: Inglorious Bastards - Tarantino's Next Project!

Very interesting.

I remember back when Morricone was supposed to be onboard for the score, I was thinking "Wonder if Tarantino's gonna make him pull out the heavy, electric-guitar music" (Being that Morricone's work as of late has mostly been lush, mellow music) but man, a lot of these tracks are almost pure rock (i.e, "Devils' Rumble,Slaughter,One Silver Dollar) and even:

The music in that movie is like mini-Metallica!

Re: Inglorious Bastards - Tarantino's Next Project!

The score for 'The Entity" is fantastic. Very Giallo-esque.

Can't wait to see how he uses it here.

Un Amico is one of my favorite Morricone themes. Well the instrumental version at least. I think the singer kinda kills it.

Wow!!! I don't know whether to take those clips seriously or not. Still had a smile on my face the whole time though.

Re: Inglorious Bastards - Tarantino's Next Project!

So this is either one of his best films or one of his worst but "still entertaining as hell."

THR's review seems to be on this same page.

I'm keeping my expectations in check, but those reviews sound pretty damn good. Although, as I suspected, it sounds like Roth is the weak link here.
