Smith Rules All

I think Agent Smith is going to end up helping the humans in the final battle.

This will set him free.

I think Smith obviously plays a much bigger part in all of this than the foil to Neo and his friends.

The architecht mentions nothing of a rogue agent 'virus' who has gained supreme power in the previous Matrixes when talking to Neo - perhaps Smith is the anomaly of this 'present' Matrix.

It's kind of fun to wander down that path.

Feel free to jump on and tear it apart. Just a fleeting thought I had.

Anyone care to chime in? Is Smith THE ONE?

No, the Architect was referring to NEO as the anomaly.

Smith is a virus that the anomaly created. The agents and architect don't seem to be aware of him in Reloaded.

Anyone noticed that Smith seems to be able to track Neo? Similar to how Neo can tell when agents are nearby.

Ever since Neo dove inside Smith and turned him inside out (first movie), both of them can sense the other, like when Neo sensed what Smith had done to Bane inside the Matrix, but wasn't quite sure what he was sensing at the moment.

I'm still not convinced that Smith doesn't have a bigger role to play in all of this than being just a simple thorn in Neo's side.

Did you see the end trailer? There's more Smith in the third film, including what looks like a big showdown between one of the smith's (Smith Prime?) and Neo.

It's obvious that Smith wants to stop Neo. But stop him from doing what? And why?

I think Smith wants to rule the Matrix himself. He wants to eradicate the human scum and the Matrix as a system won't allow that (since they need the humans).

When did Neo sense this? He was in Zion at the time.

He was having "visions" of things happening in the Matrix even while in Zion - Trinity dying, etc. The Oracle said that he had the power to be free from TIME in there.

Of course, his visions while *outside* the matrix add to the "Matrix-in-a-Matrix" theory.

Smith damn well better have a more significant role in the 3rd movie. He had as much to do with advancing the plot as the rave scene.

Well, the most shown scene from the trailer for Revolutions shows Smith and Neo facing off to an audience of seemingly endless Smiths.

Or are you saying we should have another rave scene in Revolutions?

Hey the eye candy in the rave scene wasn't all bad!

I think smith will have a big role, but I think it will be as an antagonist to both the machines and Neo. I think he may inadvertantly set the Human's free, since he is the unaccounted for factor that the machines won't be expecting.

Anyway, none of us know, but it is fun speculating.
