If you listen to the new T2:EE DVD out, check out the James Cameron commentary during the scene where Arnold says "Wait Here, I'll Be Back"
He cracks a little joke towards T3 saying "Now doesn't that sound better than 'She'll be back' ? "
The way he says it, somewhat jokingly, shows he has a little animosity towards the new film.

Anyhow, who owns the rights to Terminator? Each film has been released by a different studio.

I think its time again to head on down to Universal Studios in Florida and check out a true Terminator sequel directed by Mr. Cameron. Anyone see this? All the major stars from the second one are in it, some new Terminator designs (if I remember correctly they were called mini-HKs and the T-Meg) and a story that continues where part 2 left off - in 3D no less. It would be too bad if that short film ends up being superior to this latest Terminator movie, but all this talk about Cameron and Linda Hamilton's comments has unfortunately lowered my expectations.

I would lower my expectations for that Universal Studios attraction. Aside from some nicely directed scenes of Arnie riding his bike through ruins, it's really kinda lame. Okay, the images of the Terminator factory are cool, but that T-Meg thing looks ridiculous.

I think Mario Kassar and Andrew Vajna own the rights to the Terminator franchise.
At one point in time, that duo, James Cameron and Gale Ann Hurd all had pieces of the pie, but over the years I think Kassar and Vajna reassembled all the pieces.
If I'm not mistaken, this isn't a studio pic, the WB just bought the domestic distrubution rights, and the funding was put together through Intermedia and other investors.
