The Prisoner (do we still need to say, "spoiler"?) --spoilers

searched for this, but did not see any discussion:

didn't anyone think about the influence of the series The Prisoner when you heard that Neo was Number Six--(the "sixth version") (just like Patrick McGoohan)????

another similarity is that every (as I remember) episode of The Prisoner began with McGoohan waking up

there are probably other similarities between the matrix and the village, but not too many....The Matrix seems to influenced by many things

I think you're seeing a non-existent connection, personally.

The number may mean something but I doubt it's a Prisoner reference.

I think in general everyone is having to much creative freedom with the numbers. Some do have meaning 101, but others really are just folks trying to put something together that isn't there.

........I don't mean to say that this means anything in the plot; I used the word "influenced." I guess I should have said 'homage' or something else.....just like when some people mention Harlan Ellison as a reference when Neo's mouth closes up in The Matrix ("I have no mouth and I must scream").
