nevermind. I was able to view it as a flash on the official site.

Waiting for this has been driving me crazy. I even wore my BPRD shirt to work today as a gesture of solidarity.

I AM A NERD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Think they're talking about the new tv commercial. Haven't heard anything about a new Theatrical trailer. Besides it comes out two weeks from today.

David Goyer's major studio scripts:

Blade
Blade II
The Crow: City of Angels
Dark City
Puppetmasters

He's a .200 hitter.

I love Del Toro's direction, but the screenwriter's record doesn't give me just a ton of faith in the quality of this film or the upcoming Batman Begins.

There's a new trailer before Secret Window. The ending part was pretty cool.

While that list may not be amazing, I liked Blade well enough and Dark City was brilliant. Personally, I think this movie looks like it could be one of the better comic adaptations we've had in a while.

Hmmm. In my opinion, three of those movies were excellent (one ended up being one the the best sci-films of all time). One was horrible (but I forgive him; it was his first). And one probably looked neato on paper, but was not directed by Proyas (the only guy who can seem to make a good Crow picture).

So I'd say that he's more of a .800 hitter. Never read the comic. I don't read comics. But with Del Toro, this can't be bad. Though, I must say that I liked the first trailer more.

I just hoped that its better than LXG. I prefer the first trailer. I felt that the new one offered to many spoilers. I really hate that.

After seeing the preview on the giveaway DVD, my confidence level is slightly raised. Looks like they have taken a great deal of shots and origin material from the comic, and Perlman seems to play Hellboy down to a T.
That said, I still see this movie having problems once it hits theaters as the only way a lot of people can look at this and get psyched IMO is if they are fans of the comic. If they aren't, I could understand them being pretty "meh" about it, as the comic has a cult following at best.

It seems to make no sense to me why they aren't tailoring the previews around the character of Hellboy himself. I mean, he's the title character, this bizarre looking thing, with a really interesting background, and yet they expect the average filmgoer to say "oh, yeah, red dude with stumpy horns, cool." And one character says his name and we're supposed to be like "oh, okay, right."

A couple of my friends who are not usually in to movies said that they want to see this movie. I thought it looked stupid at first but now the more I see of it the more I want to go see it.

Jepthah: that is a good question. Seeing as how a lot of people are unfamiliar with him save for seeing a T-shirt at a mall sometimes, they need to give more focus to his character.

New Hellboy trailer?

So I went to Apple's trailer site and watched the new Hellboy trailer... is it me, or is it missing some music? Or is that how it's supposed to be? Never saw an action movie trailer without music, seems kinda wierd...

Kind of off-topic, but it seems like the Nick Cave song "Red Right Hand" is tailor made for a Hellboy trailer.

"On a gathering storm comes a tall handsome man/
In a dusty black coat with a red right hand"

EDIT: Ooops, I see that Pete Yorn has recorded a new version of "Red Right Hand" for the movie. I doubt it will sound as creepy as Nick Cave's version though.

http://superherohype.com/hellboy/index.php?id=1073

See Hellboy Early in NY & LA this Friday! Source: Sony Pictures Monday, March 22, 2004

On Friday night, March 26th, Hellboy will be screening for one show only in New York and Los Angeles. In Manhattan, the show will be at 7:30 PM at the Loews E-Walk. In Los Angeles, the screening begins at 7:30 PM at Universal Citywalk.

In LA, come early and meet Guillermo del Toro, director of Hellboy, and Mike Mignola, creator of the acclaimed comic. In New York, Ron Perlman and Selma Blair, stars of Hellboy, will be greeting guests.

Visit Fandango to purchase tickets while they last! The film opens nationwide on April 2nd.
Got to see it last week with Del Toro sitting near by. Now that is directors commentary. The film over all is good and I enjoyed it. Well worth it if you are in the area to see it.

I saw this last week and I loved it. I'll definitely go see it again. Off to Fandango.

Edit: Got my ticket. Thanks for the info, Jack!

I read somewhere that someone said it will be this year's Pirates of the Caribbean - that supposedly it will surprise a lot of people who might have dismissed it before seeing it.

I've been looking forward to it since I saw the first trailer.

The theaters at City walk are indeed a bit out dated. I'm not surprised that Universal holds most of it's screenings at the bridge. But never the less, you can get a dodger dog in the food court. That's always a plus if you ask me.
