that's why I posted.

My guess is if you've already got Atlantis, skip this one. It would be kind of like double dipping.

O.K., question: if I hated "Atlantis" (mainly because of the animation), would I like "Treasure Planet"?

For a lousy $15, you can do alot worse, a LOT worse. I watched it last night. Great animation. I didn't really care for the characters that much. It's a good one to "add to the collection", nothing more.

I liked Atlantis and loved Lilo and Stitch. And I think Treasure Planet is an average movie. Good animation, but the story and the characterization lacked somewhat. Definitely a rental material.

I'm surprised so many people disliked this one. I think the reason it did so poorly at the boxoffice was because Atlantis wasn't very good and people that Treasure Planet was going to be more of the same (no cute talking animals in the lead, strange mechanical devices, etc.) But, IMO it's actually very good (much better than Atlantis) and my 4 year old son thinks it's the greatest thing ever.

I recommend getting it.

I would highly recommend this one. It is one of Disney's best in years .. (ok, Lilo was great as well). Imho, Treasure Planet is better than Atlantis.

The only negative for me was Martin Short. aaaargh.

I saw it, didn't expect much, and was pleasantly surprised. Sure, pick it up!
