"The Core"- I need Star Trek tapes...I mean Kung fu...I mean spongebob...I mean...
Some people on the board a while back noticed that in the previews for "The Core" there were 2 versions. In one version of the preview DJ Qualls says "I'm gonna need a supply of kung fu tapes and hot pockets".
Then in another version he says "I'm gonna need a supply of Star Trek tapes and hot pockets".
I just saw a tv spot, and he says "I'm gonna need SpongeBob tapes and hot pockets".
Can they not make up their minds of what is geeky enough?

I find it highly suspicious that despite the changing of which tapes DJ Qualls' character requests, his request for Hot Pockets remains the same! Chef America must be paying a lot for this blatant product placement.

The superstorms have liquified all DVD's and left us a VHS society!!
AHHHHHHHHH!
Now thats a horror movie.
Anyway, all the trailers I've seen (at different theaters, so its not the same exact trailer reel all the time) have said Star Trek.
Does it matter though, it'll probably not even be in the movie....then we can bitch about how that scene wasn't in the movie.

I've heard all 3 versions... And none of them make the movie look less crappy.
I think they're just listing alternatives for the movie going audience. After seeing the trailer i didn't want to see "The Core" but i did feel an urge to watch Spongebob tapes. They're probably way better than The Core anyway.
