Help with a movie title - murder mystery

Ok, I ask this question every few months hoping that it will someday jog someone's memory... :(

It was a movie in the 80's... a bunch of kids were pulled over in a van, and the cops killed one of them. The story is told from three different perspectives... first, the kid's ... second, the cop's... then at the end of the "trial" (trying to remember if it was a trial setting), a taxi driver shows up and tells the third version... which turns out to be the most accurate.

anyone? anyone?

Smangalick 03-13-03 06:54 PM

Jazzbutcher 03-14-03 08:06 AM

I want to say it was something like "the so and so story" (like his name or something)... man, it has bugged me for EONS ..... or "The story of so and so"...

audrey 03-15-03 08:30 AM

You know...I've seen this flick. It might have been a made-for-tv special and seems like it could have been based on a true story. In any event, now it is driving me crazy too. Damn you. :-)

BradJ 05-05-03 04:04 PM

*bump* cuz it's killing me ... :(

BradJ 04-02-05 10:16 AM

Bump again, only because it's been over a year and it STILL bugs me!

I know, I know, at some point I need to just let go... :(

*edited: holy moses, it's been *two* years! I really need to get a life...*

BradJ 01-26-07 08:25 PM

Ok, it's been *two* years since my last bump, and it's STILL bugging me! Anyone? :)

Damn, it will be 4 years this March.:) Hopefully, someone comes along with the answer. It looks like the one above sounds like what your describing.

Fincher Fan 01-27-07 11:26 PM

HOLY CRAP! THAT WAS IT! THE KILLING OF RANDY WEBSTER!

Tragically, it's not nearly as good as I remember it being... quite cheesy, actually, but I can't believe I finally found the movie. (well, thanks to some help from Dvdtalk users!)

Well done, you!

I eventually found the movie, but looking back over old threads, I just wanted to post my every-two-year bump, especially to Fincher Fan... it's like looking forward in time, only backwards....

Sounds more like a movie title mystery than a murder mystery.

I will set a reminder on my e-mail to look this up and bump it on 7/30/2010. After that - it is someone else's responsibility.
