Help with a movie title - murder mystery

Ok, I ask this question every few months hoping that it will someday jog someone's memory...

It was a movie in the 80's... a bunch of kids were pulled over in a van, and the cops killed one of them. The story is told from three different perspectives... first, the kid's ... second, the cop's... then at the end of the "trial" (trying to remember if it was a trial setting), a taxi driver shows up and tells the third version... which turns out to be the most accurate.

anyone? anyone?

It obviously isn't, but sounds a lot like it. I think I'm going to have to check this movie out.

You know...I've seen this flick. It might have been a made-for-tv special and seems like it could have been based on a true story. In any event, now it is driving me crazy too. Damn you. :-)

Damn, it will be 4 years this March. Hopefully, someone comes along with the answer. It looks like the one above sounds like what your describing.

HOLY CRAP! THAT WAS IT! THE KILLING OF RANDY WEBSTER!

Tragically, it's not nearly as good as I remember it being... quite cheesy, actually, but I can't believe I finally found the movie. (well, thanks to some help from Dvdtalk users!)

I knew the title back in '03, but I wanted to see how much stamina BradJ had.
Well done, you!

Re: Help with a movie title - murder mystery

I eventually found the movie, but looking back over old threads, I just wanted to post my every-two-year bump, especially to Fincher Fan... it's like looking forward in time, only backwards....

Hopefully we can all revisit this thread once more before the world ends in 2012.
