It looks like Mike Myers and Gwynnie both lost bets with somebody.

who knows, Maybe if it was released when it was suppose to be it might have had some nice promoting, but since it looks to be something to dump off in march they just decided to get it over with.

I hope the movie makes tons of money like Bringiing down the house. Just to piss somma uze off

In fact, I think the WAR will add to the "I wanna escape the bad news and heavy thinking so let's have fun" feeling and this movie surprisingly shockingly well.

Timing is EVERYTHING.

Mark my words.

I'd rather see Boat Trip for cheap laughs.

Straight men attempting to pass themselves off as gay = comedy gold.

Even SNL did a riff on this - Lyle, the Effeminate Heterosexual.

And who can forget "Three's Company."

I saw this flick a couple of weeks ago... I didn't think it was great, but it's watchable. I won't rattle on too much, but I'll say these things:

Mike is in it more than you expect... perhaps 25 minutes of screen time.

Rob Lowe is in it for about 1 minute.

Stay for the blooper reel after the movie, as that's one of the funniest parts. (once the bloopers end, you can go... there's nothing at the VERY end of the credits)

I saw the preview for the first time, the same one as the commercial that's been running 100 times a day for the past three weeks, before "Chicago" (when it first opened). And the packed audience roared at the trailer. Now, maybe people will get tired of seeing the commercial, read the bad reviews, and not go see it. But they laughed like idiots in the theatre at the coming attraction.

Here's a Review

A View From the Top
(starring: Gwenneth Paltrow, Christina Applegate, and Mike Myers)

When I first viewed the trailer on television, I thought, "O.K., this has potential...Mike Myers....Gweneth Paltrow was O.K. in Shallow Hal...it can't be that bad." Boy was I wrong! Let me begin by saying, this is not the comedy the trailer makes it out to be...this is strictly a "chick flick" with a few misplaced comedy scenes. The film is about a small town, trailer-trash girl who decides to follow her dream to be a flight attendant but falls in love with a guy that she has to leave if she wants to follow her dream. SHe spends the whole movie thinking about the love she lost only to be reunited in the end. THIS PREMISE HAS BEEN DONE TO DEATH!!!! Even if you are a fan of the whole "boy meets girl, boy and girl fall in love, boy loses girl, boy finds girl again" genre...this movie will not satisfy you. I brought my wife who loves for these type of films and she thought the movie was O.K.

Mike Myers made me chuckle for the total of 5 minutes that he's in the film. He plays the teacher of a flight attendant school who has a glass eye. Everytime he has to read something he has to put it right up to his good eye (in Mike Myers typical over exaggerated fashion). You have to appreciate Mike Myers' brand of humor or the film will be a complete waste of time.

The only other redeeming factor if you're a guy is that Christina Applegate looks incredible. I think she looks just as hot if not hotter than when she was on "Married With Children". But even this can not save the film.

My advice to you is if you still want to see this film...wait for HBO (not even Pay-Per-View or to rent). It is definately going to be out of the movies within the next 2 weeks so be patient.

A couple of questions for people that saw it:

Who was playing the gay flight attendant?

What roles did Marc Blucas and Mark Ruffalo play in it?

Just wondering...

Candice Bergen. I haven't even seen the movie, just the commercials!
