I saw it over the weekend and really enjoyed it. The 3-D was really cool compared to what it used to be with the red and green glasses. It gives you the feeling that you are actually there with the crew. It's like seeing Paxton and Cameron in real life. My eyes did start to strain after a while though. Maybe it was the gigantic glocoma glasses you have to wear. They are really ugly and big. Overall, a cool experience.

The film is excellent
I saw the IMAX version and the 3-D effect was excellent. I sat really close, probably too close, but the effect was only fatiguing for about 5 minutes, after that I was totally comfortable. But the glasses are rediculous and uncumfortable.
Even though the effect is cool, I saw no need for this to be in 3-D. It just didn't need to be. The 3-D effect worked best on the surface and with the "stereo-opticon" images. When they get to the Titanic the effect is minimal. They should have just made it in Flat IMAX

You must see this film in a true IMAX cinema. In a word this film was "breathtaking!" Its sweeping cinematography and engaging editing makes this one of the best 3-D IMAX experiences ever. Kudos to Cameron for one hell of a great film!

OK... I caught this at the IMAX in Nashville over the weekend... I agree with the others who have seen this at an IMAX. The quality was very, very good. The image was rock solid and the 3-D was very well done... My only objection really is with the headpiece/glasses. Radiculos. The film is really just an hour long documentary like you would see on Discovery or whatever... But, in the IMAX, in 3-D, it's well worth your time... Check it out.
