From Russia With Love is my favorite James Bond movie, which makes it my fav Connery Bond as well.
But Goldfinger, Thunderball, and Dr. No are all close behind.

From Russia With Love. Like others have said, it's not only my favourite bond movie, it's one of my all-time favourite movies.
To me, FRWL beats out Goldfinger because it moves faster. It's one big adventure as Bond is never in one spot for too long. Goldfinger kind of drags a bit in the middle (still an awesome movie).

I enjoy all the Connery movies, and really, are the only ones from the Bond movies I like. Picking a favorite is tough, but I'd have to go with From Russia With Love, closely followed by Goldfinger and Dr. No.

The train fight was awesome, I love the theme song (without the lyrics), and it's more of a pure spy movie that is grounded in reality. Not a while lot of over the top gadgets.

The best Bond villain tandem in Rosa Klebb and Donald "Red" Grant. The introduction of Blofeld. John Barry's first score(which features the 007 theme). A great sidekick in Kerim Bay. Another funny cameo by Sylvia Trench. References to the previous Bond flick(a rarity in the series). And the great train fight between Bond and Grant, IMO the best scene in any Bond flick ever.

I'd say they meant to pick "Diamonds are Forever" but thats just as inexcusable.
I dunno why two people picked that.
I voted "From Russia with Love". I remember having my very own Bond marathon (well, with Connery movies anyway) and i remember watching this movie and thinking how good it is. I really liked the fact that there was actual spying...and Daniela Bianchi didnt hurt things either
That and i liked the idea of playing both sides (West vs. Russia) against one another.

I'm also surprised at the number of votes for YOLT. Although I like the movie, my brother and I were recently talking about how ridiculous the plot is. Kidnapping astronauts in outer space? WTF? In a movie series with some preposterous plots, that one still takes the cake for Bond films. And the section in which Bond is made Japanese by gluing crap to his face and having him get married Japan-style. Uhmm, why? I mean, I can understand disguising him as Japanese so the helicopters didn't pick him out when he was in the fishing boats, but why did he have to actually get married? It made no sense.
Not to completely slam the movie, though - I really liked the action scenes in it a lot, especially Bond's office fight with that big guy, and the unforgettable shots of all the Ninja sliding down the ropes near the end. And Spectre's dormant volcano base was very impressive (even if it was well-spoofed by Dr. Evil). I just wish the plot had been a little more down to earth, so to speak. This was the first Bond movie in which Ian Fleming's original story was pretty much entirely thrown out, and it shows. (Unfortunately, this practice would become the rule instead of the exception for later Bond films.)

I always wondered why the helicopters attacked Little Nellie in YOLT. Bond was finding nothing and was getting ready to head back to base when all of a sudden, he's being fired on. Way to raise suspicions Blofeld. You should have dropped yourself into the pirahna tank for that one you dolt!

I voted for Goldfinger as my favorite but I could have chosen any of the first five.
I almost votes for YOLT because I love the Nancy Sinatra song.
Diamonds Are Forever was a big disappointment for me.

It's interesting to look at the novel's plot summary at Wikipedia. The fact that YOLT was made before OHMSS (done because the producers didn't want to delay production on the next Bond to wait for the next ski season) is apparently a major reason the original story was thrown out, because the novel sequentially followed the events from OHMSS. However, names of characters and Bond getting married in YOLT originated from the novel (but under much different circumstances).
