Spaceballs hasn't aged well. It's really not a good film, but it does have some great lines. I also remember loving Robin Hood: Men in Tights. Tried to watch that recently (haven't seen it in probably 15 years), and man what a terrible fucking movie.

I'll also agree with Idiocracy. Love the premise but only made it about 30 minutes in without a laugh to be had.

More recently? I found Ted highly overrated. Once you get over the cursing bear in the first 5 minutes, it's a paint by numbers rom-com.

I'll pick on some of the bigger comedies:

Dr. Strangelove

Some Like it Hot

ANY Monty Python

The Big Lebowski

I hope you've reconsidered after 10 years. This is one of my all-time favorites.

Agreed!

The scene with Leslie Nielsen and Priscilla Presley walking out of PLATOON laughing their heads off is worth a couple chuckles at least.....

Any movie made by the Farrelly brothers, in over a decade.

The Three Stooges(2012)
Hall Pass(2011)
The Heartbreak Kid(2007)
Fever Pitch(2005)
Stuck on You(2003)
Shallow Hal(2002)

I'm going to take some heat for this one, but here goes...

I'd never seen ANCHORMAN, but since the sequel is coming, I figured it was about time to check it out...

It's AWFUL! Like the worst episode of SNL you can think of - just horrible. I have no idea why anyone would want to see a sequel.

I hated Idiocracy too. First few minutes were good but really turned into crap quickly. Could have been funnier.

I know Hall Pass got a lot of hate, but I actually thought parts of that movie had some good laughs. The cast wasn't bad either.

Python was not always great, but Life of Brian and Meaning of Life both had many laughs in them.

Lebowski was not a laugh a minute...but it did have some corkers. The cup to the face after being told he wasnt listening always cracks me up.

Wait, you watched the first, found it unfunny then continued onto the second AND the third?

I saw The Big Lebowski in the theater when it first came out and absolutely hated it! Several years later I gave it another shot on DVD and thought it was hilarious.

I've changed my opinion on movies in the past but I can't think of another example where I've done a complete 180 like that before.

ok, you caught me. I didn't see the third.

I saw the first, and laughed perhaps once. I was shocked it was such an accepted hit. So I figured I'd give it another chance, and watched part 2, which was even worse. Even diehard fans of the first one say the 3rd is shite, so I won't be wasting any time with that one.

The first Hangover was hilarious, second not so much, third wasn't even a comedy I don't think.

LOL, I was going to give you watching the second, but wanted some explanation about the third. I thought you might be an extreme completist. Watching bad action movies, even bad dramas I can do, but bad comedies are almost impossible for me to sit through.

I agree, I am beside myself as to why so many people LOVE that movie. I like Will Farrell but.. well you said it all...

Shallow Hal
You Me and Dupree-Believe it or not, they advertised this as a comedy.
Any movie staring Adam Sandler and Jim Carey from the last 13 years.
Woody Allen films during and after Annie Hall.
It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World-Too many cooks ruined the stew.
Casino Royale(60's)-It starts out bad and it only gets worse.
