scarecrow

You cant bring back Christopher Walken to the Batman movies. He died as Max Shrek in Batman Returns. They should get either Paul Bettany or DJ Qualls as Scarecrow.

My thoughts exactly as regards his abilty to do the roles. I still think he'd do a good job as the Joker. Wasn't he a possibility for the Riddler in BF.

They should ignore all four previous films and start from scratch (without using previous Batman actors too).

Joker - Bruce Campbell
Penguin - Dustin Hoffman
Catwoman - Charlize Theron
Two-Face - Robert Patrick
Mr. Freeze - Jeremy Irons
Poison Ivy - Angelina Jolie
Riddler - Matthew McConaughey
Mad Hatter - Martin Short
Ra's Al Guh - Sean Connery

Robin Williams turned down Batman Forever because the Riddler wasn't Frank Gorshin enough, which is odd considering the 60's show is where Joel Shumacher seemed to be going (especially when Adam West praises Batman & Robin).

Paul Bettany would make a great Joker. He has a theactrical flair to him that would be well suited to the role. But, no Joker in Batman: The Intimidation.

As for Ra's Al Ghul, it'd be nice to see John Turturro, but they'd have to make him look old enough to have a daughter that would be a love interest to Batman.

My pick would be Patrick Stewart as Mr. Freeze. When I first heard that Arnold would be Mr. Freeze I thought that Stewart would be a better candidate. After I saw that crapfest that was B&R I'm glad for the choice. They got the character totally wrong. We really need to see the emotional turmoil of this man with extreme subtlety. Not stupid "everybody chill" oneliners. I think Stewart already has the look and the acting ability for that role and could really serve as a poignant villain.
I believe Patrick Stewart actually was the leading candidate to get the Mr. Freeze role and may even have been cast at one point, but WB's genius executives decided to go with Arnold at the last minute, fearing Stewart wasn't a big enough draw. The funny thing is, Stewart has been a bigger draw since the mid-90's thanks to Star Trek and X-Men.

I remember even hearing rumors that WB didn't mind having to shill out $25 million for Arnold instead of Stewart's $5 million asking price at the time.

No, if anyone were to play Mr. Freeze, it would definately be Ben Kingsley.

Where would Christian Bale fit in that equation?

Man, I am psyched. Bale will again revive the franchise where Clooney nearly destroyed. Argh, Mr. Freeze Ahnold was almost as bad as Clooney as the Cape Crusader.

I wish theyd bring Bane(actually i'd love to see a Bane movie, maybe based on the 3part miniseries that came out back in 97-98). back as the villian and i don't know make him anyway near the way he is in the comic instead of the mindless bouncer he was in Batman and Robin. Same thing with Freeze. But Scarecrow was always my favorite villian, i remember in 97, Jeff Goldblum was rumored to play in the fifth film, then Batman and Robin tanked. I'd almost see Bale as a better Nightwing than batman, but i think he'll pull it off.

It's looking a bit like the assault vehicle in Aliens with all the hard edges.

It sounds like most of the gadgets/vehicles will have origins as weapons being designed by Wayne enterprises for the military. With that approach, it makes sense that the Batmobile wouldn't look like a sportscar.

I'll be curious to see if it has guns like Burton's Batmobile. Guns + Batman don't mix.

That also looks like the souped-up Batmobile from The Dark Knight Returns. I actually don't mind it so much.

I can live with it... I still have the early concept drawings of the Batmobile from Batman & Robin.

It looks really strange. But I'm envisioning Batman trying to look cool driving around in that. From a practical standpoint, that vehicle makes much more sense. So we shall see...I've got faith in Nolan.

First the cat woman trailer, now this...

Well it's not that bad. It looks a little much. Something a redneck batman would be driving to the local monster truck event, but otherwise eh, I need to see it in action

Why can't they just use the one from Tim Burton's Batman?

That's exactly what came to mind when I saw the pics. I'm cool with it. I figure the Batmobile will get "prettier" in the sequel(s).

I'd put 19" chrome spinners on there first of all... and it needs some ground effects.
