While I'm gonna rent the American Ring, the Japanese Ring is a truly amazing horror film, and every self-respecting horror fan should own it. Also, someone else mentioned Kiyoshi Kurosawa, and while I never find him outright scary, he creates fantastic moods.

Audition, while billed as a horror film, is almost more of a situational comedy that takes a very dark turn. While I love just about anything Takashi Miike puts his name on, someone looking for a straight horror film might not be satisfied with Audition.

Because "Fear Dot Org" sounds really really stupid?

My opinion of Fear-dot-com is that there is a very good movie trapped in there, trying to get out.

If they had focussed on the serial killer storyline, and explored the potential power of graphic images, it could have been very interesting. But then they had to tack on this other subplot that is a rip-off of Ring and it doesn't fit at all.

It's a bit of a shame, and a wasted opportunity.

P.S. - Also check out Donnie Darko too, although it's more of a mystery-thriller.

Amen to these suggestions....especially Session 9--very creepy

Bought Frailty yesterday, and watched it last night - GREAT film. Thanks purplechoe for the referral and tdirgins for confirming.

Now if I can just win the region 1 Session 9 over on eBay for less than $16.

Thanks again, tok3y
