Dumb and Dumberer: When Harry Met Lloyd

I just saw the trailer for this movie when I went to see the Lord of the Rings. I was really excited about the prequel to Dumb and Dumber, but then I heard from several websites that Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels will NOT be in it. Is that true? If so, I dont see a point in going to see it! If anyone has anymore information about this, please post!

The movie takes place when they were teenages so it would make sense to cast young actors instead of Jim & Jeff. It will obviously lose the 'magic' that the first one had by not having Jim & Jeff, but it still might be interesting (at least to buy when the DVD comes out)

Although, The following link may prove your point in NOT wanting to see it:
http://movies.yahoo.com/shop?id=1808439457&d=hp&cf=prev
The part of Harry (Jeff's char.) may be played by the "Dude, you're getting a Dell" kid. AHHHHH!!!!!!!!!
Who's the guiness who thought of that?...Probably the same guy who thought casting Leonardo Dicaprio would be a good choice for Anakin in Star Wars II.

Thanks for the link! It apparently won't have Carrey nor Daniels. But a good reason to see it may be the person who plays Ms. Heller, Cheri Oteri. She was on Saturday Night Live for a couple of years and is very funny!

The Dell guy is not in the movie. That was a rumor that was proved to be untrue.

This sounds like a sucky movie, unlike old school which will rock the house.

There was no way they could afford Jim Carreys' check to get him back, same with the sequel to the mask which never happened

Thanks for the confirmation. I feel better now. Whew!

Talk about your "known for one character for the rest of your life". I'd NEVER be able to see that kid without thinking "DUDE!"

When the trailer came on befre LOTR:TTT the entire theater went wild. I sat back and waited for the excitement to deflate when the cast was revealed. Well, the trailer never stated who was in the prequel but the audience caught on real quick that it was not Daniels and Carrey. It was like a collective let down, a shared sad epiphany, when it occurred.

You make it seem like they wanted to do the sequel and decided not to cast Daniels & Carrey because they would be too old. Give me a break!! They couldn't get any of the orignal cast & filmakers back again for a sequel, so they decided to cash in on the first film's name in an incredible, pathetic thirst for $.

I thought Carrey & Daniels were in it when I watched the trailer, and even then I realized I now have absolutely no interest in seeing a movie about dumb (albeit loveable) people. Dumb & Dumber isn't bad, but this was one of those moments when you notice you've outgrown a movie.

I was suspicious when the trailer didn't list actor names or show faces

Saw an advance screening of OLD SCHOOL, and I was surprised. it was enjoyable. worth what I paid for it. so I wouldn't be bashing it so soon. it was atleast decent

It doesn't sound like he meant that at all.

I disagree fumanstan.

What came first the chicken or the egg? Or in this case, the script or not getting Carrey or Daniels?

You mean the other way around. The guy from not another teen movie is playing Harry. The guy playing Lloyd is a new-comer.

That still doesn't seem to infer that Carrey and Daniels are 'too old' for a sequel. It was just a simple explanation.. its a prequel with them as teenagers, so there's no Carrey or Daniels. Yes its because the studio can't afford Carrey, but the quote doesn't suggest an order to me
