Trying to stuff his films with love ballads and laughable tender moments has made him the source of much hatred, particularly after his last glossing over of history.
I'm really hoping he's dropping that style for a return to the wonderful escapism that was the first Bad Boys. The trailer hinted at a love story, and that scares me. Let's hope it's just a lust story like with Tea Leoni from the first one. As long as he can steer clear of trying to make this film a date flick, it should kick ass. I really hope so.

• Quoth matrixrok9 •<HR SIZE=1>From parts of the reviews I read on Aintitcoolnews, it seems like he's back to his Bad Boys, The Rock days. The reviews were very positive and the action pieces just got better as the movie went along. It sure looked like he got very creative with his camerawork on this movie, a major plus. <HR SIZE=1>
I really hope this is true. I've found many of the recent "blockbuster" films to be pretty underwhelming, and I'm in need of a badass escapist film that doesn't try to be all things to all people.

Question About This "Bad Boys 2" Poster...
Hey guys,
I found this NEW Bad Boys 2 poster on ebay...the only problem is that the poster size is a huge 4x6 instead of more "normal" size.

What I'm wondering is...do you guys think this poster will become available to poster online retail stores like allposters.com at normal sizes and not HUGE 4x6 sizes like the poster above?
I ask because I just have never seen this poster before and find it to be the best Bad Boys poster I've seen...what do you guys think...?
Thanks.

Bad Boys 2: Michael Bay's comeback?
I haven't seen the film yet. But do you think this will be Michael Bay's comeback film? Slowly Michael Bay has become one of the most hated directors in America. And even the most diehard Michael Bay fan would be hardpressed to call Pearl Harbor a good movie.
So will Bad Boys bring back his box office success? (Pearl Harbor, I think made money, but probably not enough)

Michael Bay is not hated. Middle America still loves explosions and gratituous nudity. The only reason he would need a comeback is because he has been outdone by the new "hot" director, McG.

That said, I'm Irish, and I LOVE explosions and gratuitous nudity. I'm MALE.
I just like a good story to tie it all together...

Where did he go? All his films are essentially two hour trailers like Bad Boys II, even when he attempts to do something serious like Pearl Harbor. All he needs now is to direct Vin Diesel and the circle is complete.

Comeback? After its worldwide run and DVD releases, Pearl Harbor made a crapload of money, so it's not like he's hurting.
That said, PH was a travesty IMO and material like Bad Boys 2 is what he needs to be making. Bay's style is good for action, just not serious drama.

Comeback, from where?
What movie of his has lost any money in the past 5 years?
I own and liked PH. Not a 100% perfect movie, but it was no where near a bomb of a movie. As a matter of fact, it got about 95% of the details in the movie correct.
My dad was in WWII, Korea and Vietnam as a pilot. He was trained in the same bombers that Doolittle flew off the Aircraft carrier. One of my dad’s friends (Bill Bower) flew on the mission with Jimmy Doolittle to bomb Japan. I have known Bill most of my life (well, I meet him when I was 13). The bombing of Japan was great for the moral of the United States, we did not have much good news against Japan up to that point. It made people believe that we could beat the country that made us pay
such a terrible price in Pearl Harbor. That is why I was hoping
Disney was not going to mess with history to much.
There have been alot of people who said that PH(the movie) got nothing right as far as history goes. So, I did some research and found out that it did get about 95% of history correct. Some of the "mistakes" were "artistic liberities".
Some of things that people said that PH got wrong were:
1. They sun was too bright during the attack(sun came up to early)
2. Dorie Miller(a black man) never received a medal until after he died
3. Doolittle's men never crashed in China
For the most part they got the points from history right:
1. The planes bunch up together when the bombing started
2. The time in the morning when the strike took place
3. Two men (the names were changed) driving to a small airfield to take off
4. Those two men shooting down Japan airplanes
5. The cook(Dorie Miller) shooting down planes from one of the ships guns
6. The cook(Dorie Miller) getting the Navy Cross from Admiral Chester W. Nimitz on the deck on one of the Aircraft Carriers for his bravery
(http://www.history.navy.mil/photos/...-m/d-miller.htm).
7. Doolittles Raiders taking off early because they were spotted by some small boats.
(and they really did place black boom sticks in the plane as guns in the back of the plane)
8. Some of the Planes did crash in China and some the men did
die(But I do not think they died in a gun fight, they either died by being executed by the Japanese or drowning while bailing out after bombing Japan - they changed execution to gun fight).
http://www.b25.net/raiderslist.html
9. Sunrise was about an hour before the attack
http://www.sunrisesunset.com/calend...001&time_type=0
10. Sinking of the minisubs
11. The presidents speech
12. The photo man's death
13. Date of the attack on PH
14. Time of the attack on PH
15. The messages getting to Hawaii late
16. Date for the Doolittle Raiders taking off
17. Hornet being the name of the lead Aircraft Carrier
18. Doolittle was told not to go the mission, but he never said he would not, so he went.
19. There is more, but my wife called and wants me to come home for dinner...(I can many more to this list if you want it)
The place were they did not go with history is:
1. The 2 men who shot down Japan's planes never went with Doolittle(maybe they could not get they rights to the mens names or something.
I believe the love story did show how the war changed people’s
lives forever. Without the human drama, PH would not have been true to those who lost the people they loved. True, some of the lines were corny and unoriginal, but it did remined me of some of the old black & white movies from that time period.
Once again, I say they got 95% of history correct (No movie can ever be 100% correct in every detail, not even Tora, Tora, Tora was 100% correct in History). That means out of 100 parts of history, 95 are correct and 5 are wrong.
Not a perfect movie, but my wife and everyone else I know loved
it.

Here is the list of MB movies:
• Bad Boys II (2003)
• Pearl Harbor (2001)
• Armageddon (1998)
• The Rock (1996)
• Bad Boys (1995)
It looks like MB is right on schedule to release his next movie.
He does a movie once every 2 to 3 years on average.

I remember watching a show on Discovery or TLC, or History Channel, the week before PH opened. It had about 10 PH survivors on, and they agreed that the film was about half-Holloywood/half-true to life.
Exactly.
