Smith and Lawrence were billed. Lawrence name appeared on the screen first, then Smith.

Is it just me, or is Martin's face bloated beyond belief? The rest of him looks normal, but his face has more fat than a pork chop. Looking forward to this...

I just hope it's closer to the reckless and carefree nature of Bad Boys and less of the self-importance of Pearl Harbor. The first is still one of my favorite action films ever.

2600, those were the trailers I got: Dumb and Dumberer, Bruce Almighty, Bulletproof Monk, Darkness Falls ... but I also got T3, Final Destination 2, Old School, Pirates of the Carribean, and Finding Nemo ... no Bad Boys 2 though (nor X-Men 2).

To me it looks like Michael Bay is continuing to make completely generic, unoriginal explosion movies.

I'll probably see this [despite / because of] the involvement of Michael Bay.

Have seen the trailer twice I think; looks entertaining. Now, if only I'd get around to seeing the original Bad Boys.....

I concur with atlantamoi. I might rent it sometime, but hell, I wouldn't put up with a crowd to watch it. Looks like a summer pop corn flick, no more then that.. I also get the feeling from the trailer that smith feel's he is above this role. Lets see if the chemistry is still there.

I thought the first movie was very enjoyable if you just accepted what it is--a popcorn flick. Plus it didn't hurt that Will Smith and Martin Lawrence(doing the best work of his career)made a great on-screen duo. I will definitely be seeing BB2.

i am just glad that they were able to get everyone from the first one back. i hate when sequels are made that don't return the originals.

Not to do any "off-topic movie bashing," but to those who wonder why anybody was slightly amused by the Bad Boys 2 trailer, I offer this:

In my case, I believe both times I've seen the trailer, it was during a batch that also included Legally Blonde 2 - possibly the most projectile-vomit-inducing few minutes of footage I've ever witnessed. Basically, anything looks good compared to that.

Someone unclear on the concept of the summer popcorn flick.
But to each his own.

Bad Boys in one of my favorite action films. It's silly (sometimes when it shouldn't be); actors giving corny lines in life-and-death situations, stuff like that. But Michael Bay sure does know how to put together one hell of an action sequence. His framing and style never brought it down.

Thank you, Michael Bay, for going back to what you do best; making cool escapism action films.

Please stop making films with emotional caliper that you cannot correctly translate to film.

That's all I have to say...

Of course it's a summer popcorn flick, what do ya think, eh? It's funny how people bash "popcorn" flicks. Those who enjoy bashing "popcorn" flicks obviously doesn't like action movies.

I have mixed feelings about this. I loved the first one. It was pure escapist fun. Michael Bay is brilliant when it comes to action sequences. Since then, unfortunately, he's become bogged down in attempts to extend himself beyond his talent. Trying to stuff his films with love ballads and laughable tender moments has made him the source of much hatred, particularly after his last glossing over of history.

I'm really hoping he's dropping that style for a return to the wonderful escapism that was the first Bad Boys. The trailer hinted at a love story, and that scares me. Let's hope it's just a lust story like with Tea Leoni from the first one. As long as he can steer clear of trying to make this film a date flick, it should kick ass. I really hope so.
