Well, that depends on whether Kurosawa would have had the ability to make films and get them seen by an international audience. Without him, Lucas would have had to ripoff someone else, and Star Wars would look very different, if it was made at all.

Star Wars wouldn't have even been made without World War 2. The battle sequences are based of WW2 archival footage.

If WW2 hadn't happened, the Germans would be running things and so in Star Wars the stormtroopers would be the good guys.

Plus all the Jews would be dead, so we wouldn't probally have as many movies now anyway.

And Spielberg would never have existed.
