Final Destination 2 update...
Final Destination 2
Release Date: January 31, 2003 Director: David Ellis Starring: A.J. Cook, Michael Landes and Ali Larter Synopsis: Driving with a group of friends to Daytona Beach, Kimberly (A.J. Cook) has a sudden premonition that saves them all from a catastrophic freeway pileup … or so it seems. Ali Larter returns from the first film as Clear Rivers, the lone survivor of the Flight 180 airplane crash, whom Kimberly goes to see once death starts coming after her friends. It’s a rollercoaster ride of fear and fate as Kimberly races to save her friends and herself from the implacable jaws of death. The sequel to the 2000 blockbuster, Final Destination 2 also stars Tony Todd from the first film, as well as Michael Landes and James Kirk. |
Wow, I can put in on my shelf right next to Seriously, Dude, Where's My Car? and Bring It On Again

I really liked the first one, but I think a sequel is a really bad idea.
|
I agree, the first film was really well-done. Sounds a lot like box office greed to me. I hope that I'm wrong.
|
I enjoyed the first one. Hope this one lives up to its expectations (I doubt it will, though).

Comparing a horror film like Final Destination to fluff like Dude, Where's My Car? and Bring It On is pretty moronic. It's like comparing apples to oranges.

I think you are missing the point. They are not comparing the genre of the first one or the first one at all. They are comparing the fact that the studios would create such a obviously greedy sequel. who knows. :( I am with everyone caught the original as a blind buy loved it. Don't know about the second one. |
I really enjoyed the first one and it does seem that this one is being made for money.
No Devon Sawa? Spoilers from the first film follow: Spoiler:
Sounds like something I"ll pass on |

The sequel is not based on the original's alternate ending.

I think this is a bad idea and I liked the first movie but in order to half way succeed I think they need to tell what happend to Sawas character.
I remember reading he was originally signed for a sequal along with Larter. Wonder why they decided to do it without his character. Oh about the DVD ending? It didnt work in the first place, why would they base the new movie on that ending? We just suppose to disregard the ending shown in theatres?????!!!!????? |
I liked the concept that they they came up with in the original ending but the execution of it was very poor and that's why I think it failed.
Spoiler:
|
Devon Sawa was to busy making his magnus opus, Extreme Ops!
:) I loved the original, but the fact that the original creators are not on board makes me want to skip it. |
Deon Sawa wanted more $$$$$$$$$ so the studio passed....
|

Trailer looks good. Hopefully the rest of the film holds up, as the original was so well done.

It looks good. I wish Devon Sawa was back for this one though. |
Darn! Beat me to it! Anyway, yes, I think it looks very good.
When I heard first head about the idea for Final Destination 2, I thought it would be horrible and they would foul the entire thing up, but this trailer has revived my faith in sequels. Let's hope it's as good and exciting as it looks (The car accident sequence looks great!). |

looks good to me! I'll definately catch this one in theatres. I absolutely loved the first one.

Teaser looks good as does the poster. I assume it'll be a lot like the first one, I just hope its as good.
|
I'm surprised they made a sequel, since the first "Final Destination" was kind of a flop.

Originally posted by PolloDiablo Fowl up the whole thing?? I thought the first film already took care of that. I will never understand the attraction to these horrible teen horror films, theres nothing actually scary about them, its just a bunch of scenes of someone jumping out and screaming BOO!!!! I mean sure its gonna give you a startle, but its not like that makes it a good movie. I thought the first one was great and I don't go for the teen slasher comedies they put out these days. I thought this one was a lot of fun and had a great storyline. I couldn't have been more surprised at how good this one was so I am looking forward to seeing what they do with the sequel. :) |

I mean sure its gonna give you a startle, but its not like that makes it a good movie. I agree that most teen horror flicks are horrible (Urban Legend 2, Soul Survivor, Scream 2 and 3, Halloween Resurection...) But sometimes there are some breaths of fresh air with something original and clever and witty in it's material (Scream, Urban Legend, Final Destination). Sure, it's not oscar worthy, but no ones asking for shakespear, they're asking for cool, gorey deaths, and exciting ideas. |
That scene with the disposal? They won't turn it on. Standard cringe-inducing scene that ends with him pulling out whatever he dropped and then something ELSE bad suddenly happening.
I've seen too many of these damn movies. |
Looks promising.
|
This looks like the definition of "more of the same". There is NOTHING in this trailer that promises anything innovative or fresh as far as the original idea is concerned. Blah.
|
Well come on, what can they really add to it to make it innovative? From this stuff you should almost always expect "more of the same"
|
Gee, I don't know, maybe a little more than just a new bunch of people doing what seems to be EXACTLY the same things the people in the first film did.
The films' central premise is certainly unique enough to allow screenwriters to come up with different scenarios. Hell, they could even turn this into a superhero film! |
