Final Destination 2 update...

Final Destination 2
Release Date: January 31, 2003
Director: David Ellis
Starring: A.J. Cook, Michael Landes and Ali Larter

Synopsis:
Driving with a group of friends to Daytona Beach, Kimberly (A.J. Cook) has a sudden premonition that saves them all from a catastrophic freeway pileup … or so it seems. Ali Larter returns from the first film as Clear Rivers, the lone survivor of the Flight 180 airplane crash, whom Kimberly goes to see once death starts coming after her friends. It’s a rollercoaster ride of fear and fate as Kimberly races to save her friends and herself from the implacable jaws of death. The sequel to the 2000 blockbuster, Final Destination 2 also stars Tony Todd from the first film, as well as Michael Landes and James Kirk.

I really liked the first one, but I think a sequel is a really bad idea.

I agree, the first film was really well-done. Sounds a lot like box office greed to me. I hope that I'm wrong.

I enjoyed the first one. Hope this one lives up to its expectations (I doubt it will, though).

Comparing a horror film like Final Destination to fluff like Dude, Where's My Car? and Bring It On is pretty moronic. It's like comparing apples to oranges.

I think you are missing the point. They are not comparing the genre of the first one or the first one at all. They are comparing the fact that the studios would create such a obviously greedy sequel.

who knows.

I am with everyone caught the original as a blind buy loved it. Don't know about the second one.

I really enjoyed the first one and it does seem that this one is being made for money.

No Devon Sawa? Spoilers from the first film follow:

Spoiler:
He and Ali Larter survived, so why does it say that shes the only one that made it? I hope they tell you that he died in between the films at least...

Sounds like something I"ll pass on

Did he die in the alternate ending, I don't really remember? If he did, basing the sequal on an alternate ending would make absolutly no sense, the writeres can't assume that everyone saw the alternate ending.

Spoiler:
Devon Sawa's character dies after saving Ali Larter's life by electrocuting himself. If you watch the deleted scenes before that, you'll notice that Devon and Ali get it on and Ali gets pregnant. After Devon gets killed, Ali has the baby. The last scene of the film is reminiscent of Forrest Gump as Ali Larter and Kerr Smith (who gets killed at the film's real ending) pay tribute to Devon Sawa.

I think this is a bad idea and I liked the first movie but in order to half way succeed I think they need to tell what happend to Sawas character.
I remember reading he was originally signed for a sequal along with Larter. Wonder why they decided to do it without his character.
Oh about the DVD ending? It didnt work in the first place, why would they base the new movie on that ending? We just suppose to disregard the ending shown in theatres?????!!!!?????

I liked the concept that they they came up with in the original ending but the execution of it was very poor and that's why I think it failed.

Spoiler:
Having Sawa's character die at the end made perfect sense and I wish they had made that happen. It would have been more poetic. But as in they state in the featurette, they were whores to the test audience. I always thought the theatrical ending was extremely weak.

Devon Sawa was to busy making his magnus opus, Extreme Ops!

I loved the original, but the fact that the original creators are not on board makes me want to skip it.

Trailer looks good. Hopefully the rest of the film holds up, as the original was so well done.

Darn! Beat me to it! Anyway, yes, I think it looks very good.

When I heard first head about the idea for Final Destination 2, I thought it would be horrible and they would foul the entire thing up, but this trailer has revived my faith in sequels. Let's hope it's as good and exciting as it looks (The car accident sequence looks great!).
