I am glad they were made for one as I am enjoying seeing where everybody has come from. However, I would like to know what happened to Luke, Leia, and Han from the original trilogy as well. I loved the Zahn novels and think that if Lucas does not want to do the movies, he could give the rights to those 3 films to somebody else to do and have them work on it. I would love to see the Zahn trilogy of books into 3 movies...

These movies are what's scaring me about the upcoming Indiana Jones flick. I realize that the original SW trilogy might be lacking in some aspect of "accepted" movie making, but they still bury these new flicks in terms of acting & story. Granted, the effects have been kicked up a couple notches, but what we gained in effects - we lost in other [more important] areas.
When I first saw this thread for some reason I thought Faramir meant should someone else have made them? [The original sequels -- Kershner/Marquand directed, Kasdan/Brackett wrote the screenplays]
George could write/direct TPM [similar the SW:ANH], perhaps he should've had some more outside help for the next two?

no. he should have hired a great director to make three great movies.
Instead Jar Jar will be the legacy of the first and Sound of Music for the second
I fear what the third will be compared to

I love the movies as a whole, but after watching the original trilogy this weekend, I think they seem like two different sets of movies.....and the original is better.
He should have left well-enough alone, in my opinion. All he's doing now is making all these greats myths and mysteries mere coincidences, and it's lessening the effect of the Star Wars universe.

I'm very glad he made the prequels but I think he could have skipped The Phanton Menace. He should have started with Attack of the Clones and made to more episodes in between. There seems like there is so much more story to tell in episode three. I'd like to see more than just a few minutes of Vader in the end. I'd like to see the Rebel Alliance get started and some other stuff...

i thought it was a good idea in the beginning but when i realized that he made them just so he could play with new technology i felt he should've just done other movies. he's destroyed his original idea with bad acting, silly characters, and exhausted story lines. i see them when they come to video but i haven't been impressed with either new one.

NO! Its like Enterprise, if you know everything that has happend all ready, why do Prequels. They should have done the last three like he originally promised.
I do agree with Keyser Solze though, I would probably be saying Yes instead of no if they had been good.
